As they returned from the hospital, Adele slumped in the passenger seat, her face pale and eyes half-closed. The outpatient surgery had left her physically drained. She winced slightly as the car hit a small bump, but Isy, ever attentive, noticed.

"Hey, almost home," Isy said softly, offering a reassuring smile. Her right hand rested gently on Adele's thigh, her thumb making slow, comforting circles over the fabric of Adele's jeans. She glanced over at her girlfriend, her brows furrowing in concern. "How are you holding up, babe? You okay?"

Adele gave a weak nod, her head leaning against the window. "Just... tired," she whispered, closing her eyes for a moment.

Isy squeezed her thigh gently, her eyes flicking back to the road. "We'll be home soon. Do you want to get something to eat on the way? We could stop somewhere, grab a snack."

Adele hesitated, her stomach not exactly feeling great, but she hadn't eaten much all day. She nodded slowly, appreciating Isy's care. "Yeah... maybe something light."

Isy gave her a soft smile and kept stroking her thigh as they drove. "Alright, sweetheart. What are you in the mood for?"

Adele exhaled quietly, thinking for a moment before answering. "Just... a simple roll with salami, maybe. Nothing heavy."

"Salami roll it is," Isy replied warmly. She turned the car into the parking lot of a nearby bakery, the bright sign catching her eye. "I'll be quick, okay? You rest here," she said, brushing a stray lock of hair away from Adele's face before leaning over to kiss her forehead gently.

Adele smiled faintly and nodded, grateful for the small gestures of affection. As Isy hopped out of the car, Adele leaned back into the seat, closing her eyes again, her body still aching but feeling a sense of comfort in Isy's care.

A few minutes later, Isy returned with a small paper bag in hand. She opened the door quietly, not wanting to disturb Adele if she had dozed off, but Adele stirred at the sound.

"Here you go," Isy said softly, passing Adele the bag. "I got your roll, and a little something sweet for later if you feel up to it."

Adele gave a tired smile and took the bag, feeling the warmth from the fresh bread. "Thanks, love."

"Of course," Isy replied, starting the car again. She kept one hand on the wheel and the other back on Adele's leg, the simple touch conveying how much she cared.

When they finally arrived home, Isy quickly moved to Adele's side, opening the door for her and offering a hand to help her out of the car. Adele winced slightly as she stood, her body still sore from the procedure.

"Let me help you," Isy said softly, wrapping an arm around Adele's waist to steady her. Slowly, they made their way inside. Once they were through the door, Isy guided Adele to the couch.

"Do you want to go to bed, or is the couch better for now?" Isy asked, her tone gentle.

Adele shook her head as she lowered herself onto the couch, sighing in relief as she sank into the cushions. "Couch is fine. I don't want to be cooped up in bed all day."

Isy smiled softly and knelt down to help Adele out of her shoes. She then helped her change into more comfortable clothes, making sure not to strain her. With every movement, Isy was careful, her hands tender as she brushed against Adele's skin. Once Adele was settled, Isy pulled a soft blanket over her, tucking it in around her gently.

"There, all set," Isy whispered, leaning down to kiss Adele's temple. "Do you need anything else? Water? Pain meds?"

Adele shook her head, her eyes already drifting closed. "Just you," she murmured.
