Sorry I took forever to write this one. I don't know why ... And it's a little short but ... I don't have any excuses ...

Also stop for a minute, I read the InStyle article about Renee and please, her talking about Towa, it's just so cute !! I can't. I almost feel bad writing an entire fiction where they are not together.

Anyway, enjoy this chapter,

Max's POV

It's my birthday, and it also happens to be Valentine's Day. After that's happened, all I want is a quiet day with Renee. No media, no drama—just us. We've been through a lot in the past few weeks, but today, it feels like we can finally breathe again.

The morning sun filters through the kitchen windows, casting a warm glow over everything. Renee and I are in the kitchen, both of us still in pajamas. though "pajamas" might be a stretch when the both of us are only wearing oversized t-shirts over our panties. The coffee is brewing and its sweet smell is spreading throughout the house. While we're waiting for it to be ready I'm perched on the counter, legs swinging as Renee stands between them, her arms wrapped around my waist. She's close, her forehead resting against mine, and we're just...together. It's perfect.

"So, birthday girl," Renee murmurs, her lips brushing mine as she speaks. "How does it feel to be another year older?"

I laugh softly, pretending to think about it. "Hmm, well, it feels pretty good so far. Especially since I get to spend it with you."

She smiles, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "That's a good answer." She leans in for another kiss. One hand softly brushing my skin under my shirt and the other grabbing my upper thigh. I can't help but smile against her lips.

The kiss deepens, I smile against her lips. Her breath hitches slightly as our bodies shift, pressing closer. But each second it's more messy, more urgent and I can feel her hand teasing at the edge of my waistband.

Just as the kisses were sliding to something more, there's a faint click of the front door opening. Neither of us notices, too wrapped up in each other to pay attention to anything else. That is, until we hear a familiar voice.

"Two times, really?"

We both freeze, pulling apart to see Willow standing in the doorway, holding a gift bag in one hand and looking very much amused.

"Willow!" I exclaim, my heart skipping a beat from the shock. "What are you doing here?"

Willow grins, raising an eyebrow as she glances between the two of us. "I could ask you the same thing, but I guess it's your house, so..." She shrugs, still smirking. "I came by to drop off your birthday gift. Didn't know Renee was back early. Clearly, I should've knocked."
