Love Begins

95. Amy

Adam and I have been dating for a year. We went through a roller coaster of a journey. In the end, we were are together to support each other, to grow with each other. To love each other. We both don't have family, but we became family to each other. 

I arrange the flowers on table. Candles on the side. Made a heart with candles. I hang photo frames on the wall. It took me hours to select those pictures. I thought a lot about this proposal. What to do, how to do, what to say. Adam has given me everything I asked for and even I didn't ask for. It's my chance today. I am doing something totally unexpected by me.

I dress has beautifully as I can. Breathe. I'm very nervous. Adam went on a business trip. He would return home late. As the night fall, my heart start to race in an unexpected speed. I feel nervous as well as excited. As the night deepens, my nervousness has reached its peak. Why is he not here? It's already so late. Don't tell me, he is not coming today? Will my plan fail? What to do? I can't even tell him. It's suppose to be a surprise for him.

Door opens. He's here. He look surprised. "Amy, what's this?" He ask.

I take a deep breath. "A year ago, when I was at the darkest and vulnerable point in my life, you appeared like a light in my life. You helped me when I needed it, you gave me a home when I had no where to go. You supported me in every decision I took. You even guided me to know myself." I pause. I'm being emotional. "It's because of you. I can be me." Tears well up in my eyes. He take my hand in his hand. "It's because of you, I became my true self. It's because of you, I can be mature, childish, timid, confident. I can show vary emotions cause I know you won't judge me. I know you always try to make me happy, Adam, being with you makes me so happy. Even though I cry, many times, or I am sad, I am happy, cause I lean on you. I'm happy that you are there for me whenever I need you, your hug gives me the best comfort." A tear falls down from my eyes. He wipes her tear. "Even though you are busy with work. You still spend time with me, either watching movies with me or going on dates with me or going on vacations. You always made sure to spend time with me. You know, time is the greatest gift you can give to someone. Thank you are spending time with me. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for understanding m and tolerating me. Thank you are always being there for me. Thank you are coming in my life."

"You always tell me, I am your guardian angel. You savior. I saved your life once, but saved my life twice. Rightfully speaking, you are my guardian angel. My savior. My knight in shinning armor. Appearing at right time to save his princess." He sneer at my silly comment.

"Not princess. It should my queen. You are my queen." He says. I smile.

"Okay. Phew." I take a deep breath. "Today, your queen is going to do something bold." Saying this, I bring out the ring box and open it. I go down on my knees. "Adam Clark. Will be my family?" I say with tears. "Will you marry me?" I said it. I finally said it. I said everything I want to tell him. A part of felt relief. A part of me eagerly waiting for his answer. "Adam, tell me, will you marry me?" I ask him again.

He look at me with tears in his eyes. He nods his head, "Yes. Yes. Yes. I would love to." He says.

I remove the ring from the box and put it on his ring finger. I stand up. He, immediately, hugs me tightly. "I love you." He says, lifting me in air. 

"I love you too." I say happily. Our forever love begins from now.

"You know I should be the one who propose." Adam complains.

"I wanted to. Though I could only manage to pull a small and simple event." I confess.

"It's special to me. No matter how small and simple it is. It's very special because of you." Adam says, hugging me. Kissing my forehead.
