What is the most powerful object?
Or person?
I sat at the edge of our balcony, on the rail, my legs swinging above the deadly tip of Charity Tower. Callis, Millicent, and I had been placed in Agatha of Camelot's old dormitory.
The Queen of Camelot.
All the fairy tales are real.
The idea that Snow White and Cinderella were real people was astonishing.
Who or what is the most powerful?
I was one of the most powerful back home.
So was Avery.
And now we're here.
I swung my legs around to enter my dormitory. My roommates were reading- Millicent was reading The Tale of Sophie and Agatha, while Callis was reading A New Leader's Guide to Leadership.
I sat on the edge of her bed, tapping my foot restlessly before speaking. "What's the most powerful object you know of?" I asked.
Callis and Millicent both looked up. "The Storian..." began Millicent.
"...or Sophie," Callis tried.
"Storian," they both concluded.
"What's the Storian?" I asked.
Millicent dropped her book. "WHAT?"
Callis had a more civilised approach. "You don't know what the Storian is?" she asked, trying to sound polite.
I shook my head.
Millicent opened her mouth, but closed it, nodding to Callis to explain.
"The Storian is the pen that writes the fairy tales. It kind of... it can end the world. You see... fairy tales are the fabric of the world. If a new fairy tale isn't written in a certain amount of time, the sun starts melting. And... you could see how that would end in disaster."
Millicent stood. "If someone controls the Storian, they control the world."
Callis nodded. "The Storian is safely in the School for Good and Evil. Dean Anemone and Dean Sophie share the tower as their private quarters, to guard it."
Cat nodded slowly. "Is it possible to go... see the Storian? Like, just see it?"
Callis shook her head. "Not unless you get specific permission and supervision from one of the Entrusted."
"Who are the Entrusted?"
Millicent hesitated. "There's a list, you could probably get it at the library."
I did not want to do that. I did not want to go through that. "That's okay..." I mumbled. I made a mental note to let Connor know about the Storian. Maybe he would figure it out.
"That's it," I sighed.
I should probably go get a list of the Entrusted.
I stood up to go to the library before Beautification started.
