(It's the calm before the storm.  That's all I'm going to say.)

Taeko Miyazaki

"How's Asahi doing? Is he doing better?"

"Hm? Oh yeah, he's doing a lot better. The medicine my helpers have been giving him has been helping a lot. He's doing rehabilitation training now."

"Ah, that's good. I'm glad he's doing better."

"He might have to be in training for the next day or two. Just want to make sure that he's fully recovered."

It has been almost four weeks ever since Asahi had been taken in, and he had been doing a lot better. Despite Aoi saying that it would take two or three weeks, it definitely took longer. Regardless, Taeko had visited him often, and checked on him. Aoi didn't really mind the visits, but she did get a bit annoyed that she overly worries for him sometimes. But it was in Taeko's nature, so it made sense.

Taeko did worry more for her comrades than herself after all.

Now, Aoi and Taeko were in the kitchen of the Butterfly Mansion, chatting. Well, it was more Aoi cooking in the kitchen while Taeko was sitting at the table, talking to her. It seemed rather casual and lighthearted. However, Aoi kept her usual harsh and stern demeanor around others, including Taeko. But it seemed like Aoi had shown a much softer side.

"Aoi?"

"Hm? What is it?"

"Didn't you say that you had to talk to me about something two weeks ago?"

That made Aoi stop with what she's doing, and turned around to face her. Her stern expression then softened a little, and she sighed softly. "I did. But I think it's best until all of your friends are here."

That made the brunette raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Can't you just tell me here?" She had asked. Why have her friends hear this too? Couldn't Taeko simply pass the message onto them?

"As much as I want to, your friends deserve to hear this too. You've been through too much already, and I don't think they want you to bear that burden alone."

Taeko opened her mouth to protest, but had paused to process Aoi's statement. Aoi was right. Taeko had been bearing a huge burden that she had been dealing with for so long. And all what her friends did was have her back throughout all of this. None of them gave up on her. Sure, they were approached in different ways, and some weren't easy to warm up to.

But nonetheless, they were here with her now, right? They all wouldn't walk away from her after all this time, right? Despite Taeko's comrades knowing what truly happened to her back then, she still had a fear of them leaving her. Now that she grew to enjoy their company, she felt like they would leave her at some point.

Those thoughts rushed through Taeko's mind, and that seemed to stop the conversation between the two for a few seconds. Suddenly, she felt a pair of fingers snap in front of her face.

"Taeko? Earth to Taeko?"

A somewhat stern voice still remained, and she made eye contact with Aoi once more. The raven haired female sighed, and put her hands on her hips. "You're spacing out. I called your name three times already."

"S-Sorry... didn't mean to."

Aoi had only sighed once more, and looked away. "Well... you do have the fear of your new comrades abandoning you after all this time, right?" She had asked. "How did you know I was even thinking that?" Taeko had asked.

"Well, I don't know enough to speculate. But I do know for a fact that you worry about what other people think a lot. And that you never wish to put the same pain on other people. Is that not correct?"
