(fun fact: i wrote 4 chapters of this book in a week, and adding the one i just wrote, and just got to posting them today-)
Akane Hasegawa
Akane was walking to the mansion early in the morning. She didn't have any missions as of right now, and decided to take some time out of her day to visit her new friends. She had a home of her own, but she visited Taeko and the others frequently.
And despite her not expressing much around others, she enjoyed their company, and was growing to like being around them. At first, she was hesitant around them, and it was tough for her to trust them at first. But that certainly changed now.
A few weeks ago, she had learned something shocking. Taeko had came out to everyone about a secret, when she had come to visit. And when she first heard about it, she was rather shocked to say the least.
Akane always thought of Taeko as a kind person, loyal to others, never giving up on them even. But after hearing what she had said, she wasn't sure what to think of her. Running away from the new demon king after he had been turned. And him being a close friend?
The red haired female definitely didn't relate to that. But she did understand where Taeko was coming from. Taeko didn't want to kill him. She never wanted to hurt him. She couldn't bear the fact that her allies were demons now. If anything, they might've killed her, or ended up in the same fate as them.
Akane had a feeling that Taeko wanted to save them, deep down. But what plan would there be? It would be rather difficult. But either way, Akane would stand by everyone's side, right? The red-haired female had knocked on the mansion's door, then stepped back a bit. She had waited a few seconds, before the door had opened. It was revealed to be Momo at the door.
"Akane, hey!" Momo had said, a smile coming on her face. Akane had smiled back, but it was only a very small smile. "Oh, hey Momo." She had said. "You don't have any missions this morning?" She had now questioned.
"Oh no, I'm off duty today. Half of us are still here. Have you eaten anything yet?"
"Yeah, I did. Had some food earlier before I came here."
"I see. Well, come on in."
Momo had held the door open for the red haired female to step in, and Akane quietly walked in. Hopefully she wasn't disrupting anyone. Momo had closed the door behind her. "Am I... bothering anyone here?" Akane had asked, as she looked around. "Nope, you're fine. Don't worry about it." Momo had replied, chuckling a little. Akane had stared at Momo for a few moments. For a moment, she felt her cheeks grow hot. However, she had shook her head, ignoring the heat on her cheeks.
"Where's Taeko? I know she has a huge burden on her shoulders, but maybe we can check on how she's doing?" Akane had replied. "She's on a mission too, unfortunately."
"Wait, so who's here right now?"
"Well... so far, it's Ayakashi, Asahi, Shinozuka, Hayami, and Tsukimisa, I believe?"
Akane nearly forgot the fact that Tsukimisa had a home of her own, and lived with her older sister. But she often came by to visit as well.
"I see..."
Suddenly, footsteps were heard coming down the stairs. Seeing a silver haired female and a raven haired female, Akane had simply waved to her in greeting. Turns out, it was Ayakashi and Hayami.
"Hayami, Ayakashi." Akane greeted, a small smile on her face. "Good morning, Akane. Come by to visit, I assume?" Ayakashi had asked, returning the same smile. "I am. How are you both this morning?" The red haired female had asked.
