(Last note before I start to write the juicy stuff.  After this chapter, no more weird notes from me.)

Taeko Miyazaki

The last thing Taeko remembered was her head hitting the grass beneath her.

But the first thing she woke up to was a small room. There was nothing in the room, and still, it felt rather eerie. She now felt a sharp pain to her neck. How did she even hurt her neck? She didn't do anything that caused it-

Wait.

Taeko remembered now. Everything was coming back to her. The last thing she now remembered was her home burning down to ashes, and two demons being the ones behind it. And the next thing she knew, she was knocked out along with her new friends.

She had a feeling that they ended up in the same way she was. However, the moment she looked around the room, she couldn't see anyone. Sure, there were lights in the room, but no one was found. It was just Taeko herself in that room.

The Jewel Hashira had now put two and two together. She may have been taken by the others, but she was separated from them. "Great..." Taeko had muttered under her breath, as she stood up on her feet. Her head was hurting a little, but that didn't really bother her too much. Now she was alone and lost.

She felt like she almost deserved it. She felt like she deserved it for dragging her friends into this. She promised to never put her friends through the same pain like she did before. And look where she is now.

Right where she was when the long and previous battle began. Taeko remembered this place a little too well. The last time she was here, she was running through the halls with her siblings, trying to find the rest of her old friends. However, she instead found two demons that she once knew to be humans. In fact, she knew those humans.

And at the cost of the death of those two demons, her older brother and younger sister was gone. To put extra salt in the wound, her youngest sister, the only family she had left surviving after that gruesome battle, was killed too. She was the only one in her family left.

On top of that, she had to see Nezuko die, as well as her friends turn into the being that they were sworn to fight against. Taeko felt truly alone at that moment. However, she was used to it by now. At times, she tried to act like it didn't bother her, but it truly did for a while.

And after she met her new friends, she felt like she could truly move on from this. Right? No one blamed her for what she had gone through. But still, Taeko felt like this was still her fault. She still blamed herself.

More thoughts went through Taeko's mind, as memories of the past started coming back to her.

"Taeko, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a nightmare is all."

"I'm really sorry... Do you want to talk about it?"

"It's not that much of a huge deal. I'll be okay, don't worry."

"But... you can't keep it to yourself forever, you know. It'll only hurt you more."

"I know. But like I said, I'll be fine."

That night, Taeko had woken up from a nightmare, and she was scared that badly to the point where she felt like it was real. She was lucky that she didn't scream out of fear that night. Shinozuka was the one who came to check up on her that night, and though Taeko said that she would be fine, he wouldn't leave until she told him.

Taeko eventually caved in and told him. She didn't want to go into the details, but she told him anyway so he could get the full picture. Shinozuka was friends with Taeko before all of this, so he understood what Taeko was talking about.
