(I haven't updated this book in three months when I said that I would update the week after I uploaded the previous chapter. You all have the right to come at me for this.)

Ryoji Hanamura

"Where's the Hashira you captured?"

"In a room I locked them in.  They've only been in there for a few hours, so it isn't very long."

Ryoji then stood up with Naomi, then headed back to two familiar demons standing nearby.  Kanjoro and Miharu.

"How did you even capture them?  Aren't they a Hashira?"  Miharu had asked, raising an eyebrow.  "Gave them a sleeping draft that Lady Kocho gave me.  They're surprisingly easy to capture."  Naomi had replied with a shrug.

"They became Hashira recently.  A month ago, I assume."  Kanjoro had replied, crossing his arms, his back leaning against the wall.  "And I thought those demon slayers would work hard to get to the top.  Surprised that the new leader gave them those roles so quickly."

Ryoji had stayed silent for a few moments.  He had so many more questions on this.  He had scoffed quietly, as he looked over at the others.  "Why is Lord Kamado's so insistent on going after this "wisteria girl?"  He had questioned.  "If she is called that, wouldn't we die?"

"That's where you would be wrong, Ryoji."  Kanjoro had replied simply, smirking.  "That girl doesn't even have a scent of wisteria.  In fact, she's called that because of the clothes she wears."

"Seriously?"  Miharu had asked, scoffing as well.  "Then what's the point of chasing after her?  We could've killed her right then and there, but Lord Kamado wants her taken here."

"Seriously?  He never told you?"  Kanjoro had asked, raising an eyebrow.  "Told us what?"  Naomi had questioned.  Kanjoro had laughed, the smirk still on his face.

"There's a reason he's after her.  But for the reason you think."

"Kanjoro, stop beating around the bush, and tell us."  Miharu had said, rolling her eyes.  Kanjoro glared at her.  "If you keep quiet, then I will."

Ryoji watched as Kanjoro paced around back and forth, explaining his story.

"Long ago, the demon slayers faced the former demon lord.  They came out victorious, but at the cost of someone's life.  You all know well who I'm talking about."

"Wait, but what does this have to do with the girl?"  Ryoji had asked, raising an eyebrow once more.  "Oh, she knows him very well.  Close friends, in fact.  You really want to know the reason why he's after her out of everyone?  Do you really want to know why he sent us to find her?"

After hearing Kanjoro's questions, Ryoji had looked at the other two.  "He never told us anything about that..."  Naomi had muttered under her breath.

"It's because he wants her to join him as a demon.  And if not..."

Kanjoro then turned around, a sadistic grin on his face.

"He'll kill her."

"Then why didn't he just do that to begin with?"  Ryoji had asked, facepalming.  Why was the demon lord beating around the bush, and waiting to kill the girl?  If he were to face Taeko now, he would've killed her without any hesitation.

"You know him, Ryoji.  He'll do anything to have her by his side again.  She's the last one alive out of the battle.  All of the other allies turned into demons against their will.  I wonder why she didn't."

The other three stayed silent, processing what Kanjoro had said.  "I'm surprised someone like you knows a lot more than we initially thought."  Naomi had commented, narrowing her eyes a little.
