Asahi Yasha
The previous thing Asahi saw was the night sky above him.
And the next thing that he opened his eyes to, was a white ceiling, with several lights turned on. He could smell the scent of soap for a few moments there. He expected his body to still be on the grassy field, but his back was on something soft. It definitely was a bed.
His eyes then averted to a girl looking over him. She had blue eyes and raven hair tied into pigtails. She had two blue butterfly pins in her hair.
"Looks like you're awake." She had said simply. Asahi had slowly sat up on the bed, but feeling a sharp pain in his head, he had winced, putting a hand to his head. He had made eye contact with the raven haired girl, staring at her for a few moments. He had seen her before. What was her name again?
"What... what happened?" The boy had mumbled under his breath, gripping onto his hair, but not to the point where he would pull his hair out. The girl had sighed softly. "You were found near headquarters, and someone found you." She had pointed out. "Your body wasn't in the best state either."
"I see..." Asahi had mumbled under his breath. He hadn't realized that his hand was still in his hair, trying to ignore the pain in his head. "I'll get some medicine for your headache. For now, don't grip onto your hair like that."
The boy quietly apologized, as he lowered his hand onto his lap. The girl then glanced towards the door. "Also, there's a visitor wanting to see you. I'll go send her in. For right now, I'll send one of us to get some medicine for you."
Asahi had stared in confusion, wondering who it would be. Actually, the bigger question is, who found him? The moment he had heard footsteps coming to the door, he had his answer. A girl with a wisteria haori had walked in, a stoic look on her face at first. However, once she had made eye contact with Asahi, a shocked look came on her face, and she quickly came over to him.
"Taeko...?" Asahi had mumbled under his breath, the room spinning for a few moments. His vision became clear the moment he saw her. Was she the one who found him? He then felt himself getting enveloped in a tight hug.
"You're... you're okay... thank goodness..." Asahi heard Taeko's voice grow rather shaky, as if she was about to break. "We... we thought we lost you after we found out that you were taken..."
Asahi had a surprised look on his face at first, processing everything. However, he had soon returned the hug. The two had slowly pulled away, and he heard a quiet sigh from the girl. "You were gone for a week... we thought you would've been dead..." Taeko had mumbled. Her face looked like she was about to cry.
To be honest, Asahi had hardly noticed Taeko cry. When he had first met her, he always saw her with a gentle smile. However, ever since she had fought against a demon she thought of as a close friend, she had changed. Despite her showing her kindness still, it was hard for her to express how she felt.
Asahi could see right through her. The gentle smile she had was gone. He had been friends with her for months, so he could tell. He was the first person who Taeko had taken in after all. So, this was definitely a rare occurrence where he would see her almost break.
"H-Hey... I'm okay." The boy replied with a small smile on his face. "I'm sorry if I worried all of you..."
"You went missing... how could we not be worried...? I looked everywhere I could for you."
Taeko's voice had cracked a little, as her hands were clenched up, wiping away her face. Once she regained her composure, her expression turned into a serious one.
