After leaving the arena, Izuku headed to the waiting room, his footsteps echoing down the hallway. The fight had taken a toll on his body, but his mind was still racing with the lingering fury Katsuki had provoked. He flexed his fingers, feeling the weight of Gilgamesh receding as the weapon deactivated, and his gauntlets and greaves vanished.
He pushed the door open to the empty waiting room and sat down on one of the benches. His heart still pounded in his chest, but the cold mask he had worn during the fight began to slip away. His emotions threatened to resurface, but he forced them down, focusing on his breathing instead.
Izuku: I did what I had to, "he thought, leaning forward, his elbows resting on his knees". He was out of control. He threatened everyone in the stands. I had to stop him. But that was also my fault,
Izuku couldn't shake the feeling of guilt creeping in. Katsuki had always pushed him. Yet this time... it had gone too far. Not just for Katsuki, but for him too. If he had ended the match quickly rather than let himself to controlled by his emotions, this would never have happened in the first place.
Before he could lose himself in those thoughts, the quiet creak of the door interrupted the silence. Izuku's eyes flickered open, and in walked Momo. Her face was flushed with concern.
Momo: Midoriya-san "she began softly, her voice gentle but filled with worry. She stepped inside, closing the door quietly behind her, her gaze flicking to the gauntlets on his arms". Are you okay?
Izuku gave a small nod, though he couldn't hide the weariness in his expression.
Izuku: Yeah, I'm fine. Just... catching my breath.
Momo approached him cautiously, her eyes scanning him for any signs of injury. It was then that Jirou appeared at the door as well, leaning against the frame, Her earphone jacks dangled loosely from her ears, twitching slightly as if she was trying to gauge his heartbeat.
Kyoka: You sure you're fine? "She asked, raising an eyebrow". Because from where we were sitting, it looked like you were about to tear Bakugou apart.
Izuku sighed, lowering his head.
Izuku: He put everyone in danger... he went too far.
Jirou's eyes softened, but before she could respond, the door opened a bit more, and Ochaco stepped in. She had a faint bruise on her cheek from her earlier match, but her concern for Izuku seemed to overshadow any thoughts about her own injuries. She hesitated for a moment before stepping into the room, her gaze darting between Momo and Jirou before settling on Izuku.
Ochaco: Izuku, "she started, her voice quiet but filled with emotion", I was worried about you. That fight... it was intense.
Izuku blinked at her, feeling a slight twinge of guilt. He hadn't meant to worry them.
Izuku: I didn't mean to... "he trailed off, unsure of how to express the swirl of emotions inside him". I just... he went too far. I couldn't let him—
Momo placed a hand gently on his shoulder, her touch warm and reassuring.
Momo: We know. You did what you had to do. But... "She hesitated, choosing her words carefully". You seemed... different out there.
Jirou crossed her arms, nodding.
Kyoka: Yeah, like... I've never seen you fight like that, Izuku. It was scary.
Ochaco, standing a little closer now, added,
Ochaco: It was like you were a completely different person. I get it, Bakugou can be... "She paused, searching for the right word". A handful. But we've never seen you fight with that kind of... anger.
