Act Two: Invasion
As the group of masked villains moved swiftly through the shadowed corridors of I-Island, their leader signaled for silence. They had just received their "goods"—a shipment of high-tech weaponry and equipment that would allow them to subdue the island's advanced security system. Each villain equipped themselves with restraint devices, taser guns, and enhanced Quirk-nullifying cuffs, which gleamed menacingly under the dim lights. The main villain, clad in a sleek black suit, pulled his mask over his face. With a sharp nod to his team, they began their mission.
The island's security guards, trained to handle even the most dangerous threats, were quickly overwhelmed by the sheer speed and efficiency of the villains' attack. Quirk suppressants and high-powered restraints were used to incapacitate the guards in seconds. With the entire security force neutralized, the villains made their way deeper into the island, confident that no one could stand in their way.
At I-Island Academy:
On the other side of the island, completely unaware of the looming threat, Melissa continued to show Izuku around I-Island Academy. They had just arrived at her personal lab, a sleek, high-tech room filled with various tools, gadgets, and blueprints. The walls were adorned with numerous awards, certificates of recognition, and photos of Melissa standing proudly beside her father, David Shield, at various events.
Izuku was in awe as he looked around the lab.
Izuku: Wow, Melissa. You've really done a lot! These awards are incredible. You must be one of the top students here.
Melissa chuckled, though there was a hint of modesty in her smile.
Melissa: Not really... My grades have been slipping a bit recently. But I study hard because, like you, I have a dream to become a heroine, well, in my own way.
Izuku nodded, his admiration for her dedication growing.
Izuku: That's incredible. Do you want to become a Pro Heroine, too?
Melissa paused at that question, her smile fading just slightly as she turned toward her workbench. For a moment, she seemed lost in thought, and when she finally spoke, her voice was quieter, more introspective.
Melissa: I used to... but I can't. I'm Quirkless, Izuku.
Izuku froze, his eyes widening in shock.
Izuku: You're... Quirkless?
Melissa chuckled softly at his reaction.
Melissa: Yeah, I was born without a Quirk, just like you were. "Her smile was small but genuine". At first, I thought it was fine. I figured I could still be a hero in my own way, like my dad. I wanted to design support equipment, help Pro Heroes out in the field, and make sure they had everything they needed to keep people safe.
Izuku listened intently, his own experiences as a Quirkless child rushing back to him. He understood the pain and struggles of being born without a Quirk, especially in a world where so much depended on it.
Melissa: But then, "she continued, her voice growing softer", that all changed when I saw you at the U.A. Sports Festival. I heard your speech, how you said you used to be Quirkless too... how you didn't give up, and how a Quirkless person can still be a hero. "She looked up at him, her blue eyes shining with emotion". I couldn't believe it. For the first time, I felt like... maybe there was hope for me too. Maybe I could still be a hero, even without a Quirk.
Izuku's breath hitched in his throat. The speech he had given at the Sports Festival—he hadn't realized how far-reaching its impact had been. To know that Melissa, someone so intelligent and hardworking, had been inspired by his words left him feeling deeply moved.
