Looking around the room that had once been filled with memories, the walls now seemed to close in, empty and cold. The only things that remained were Namjoon's—his books, his clothes, his scent still lingering in the air. The tears slipped from my eyes no matter how hard I tried to fight them back. They flowed freely, stinging my skin as they fell.

Letting out a shaky breath, I placed the note on the bed, right where he would see it. This was it. The end. With one last look around, my heart shattered into a million pieces, each fragment digging deeper into my chest. "Goodbye, Namjoon," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

Grabbing my suitcase, I turned on my heel and left, not daring to look back. Every step out of that house felt like a lifetime, each one heavier than the last. I loved Namjoon—God, I loved him—but I couldn't do this anymore. I didn't deserve the lies, the betrayal, the ache of being second to someone else.

It was time to live my life.

He could deal with the consequences of his actions on his own now.

The moment I opened the door and saw her standing there, her face streaked with tears, my heart broke for her. "Oh honey, what happened?" I asked, concern filling my voice as I pulled her into my arms. She trembled, trying to speak through the sobs that wracked her body.

"H-h-he cheated on me," she choked out, her words barely coherent through the sobs. She was devastated, broken, and I could feel the weight of her pain through the way she clung to me.

"Oh, my sweet baby," I whispered, wrapping my arms around her tightly, letting her cry into my shoulder. I hated seeing her like this. She didn't deserve it. No one deserved to be hurt like this.

After a moment, I led her inside, shutting the door behind us. We walked to the living room, and she collapsed onto the couch, burying her face in her hands as the tears continued to fall. Her suitcase sat beside her, a painful reminder of what she had just walked away from.

I sat across from her, my heart aching as I watched her try to pull herself together. "How did you find out?" I asked gently, not wanting to push her but needing to understand.

She took a deep breath, wiping at her face as she spoke. "He was in the shower the other day, and his phone wouldn't stop buzzing. It was Jessi texting him...you know, his assistant."

The minute she said her name, I scoffed. I never liked Jessi. Y/N had always expressed her doubts about that woman, and it seemed her suspicions had been right all along.

"At first, I thought it was just for work, but when I opened the texts..." Her voice cracked, and fresh tears began to fall. "There were nudes. They were talking about meeting up...and he told her he loved her."

The last part was what broke her. It was the part that broke me, too. She had given him everything, and he had thrown it all away for someone like Jessi.

"Oh, Y/N, I am so sorry," I murmured, rushing to her side and pulling her into another tight hug. "You don't deserve this, honey. You don't deserve any of this. You can stay here as long as you need to."

"Thank you," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I'm so sorry to just show up like this, but I didn't know where else to go. I'll start looking for an apartment this weekend."

"You don't need to worry about that right now," I reassured her. "Take all the time you need, but...you know Hoseok isn't going to take this lightly."

"I know," she nodded. "But for now, can we just not tell him? I need time to think."

"Of course. Why don't you take a hot bath? I'll get dinner started."

She nodded, and as she hugged me one more time, I couldn't help but feel grateful she had come to me. She needed support right now, and I'd be there for her every step of the way.

Today had been a long day at work, but I was looking forward to heading home. Y/N was probably at work, which meant I had time to clean up, maybe shower. Jessi and I had a little...session in my office today, and while part of me knew I should feel guilty, I didn't.

Y/N was everything a guy could want. She was sweet, caring, and loved me with her whole heart. But there was something about Jessi—her danger, her boldness, her ability to dominate the moment. Y/N and I had passion, but it was slow and sensual. With Jessi, it was raw. Intense. Different.

I walked upstairs to our bedroom, ready to freshen up, when I froze in the doorway.

Everything of hers was gone.

My heart raced as my eyes scanned the room. Her clothes, her books, her perfume—it was all missing. The room felt cold, empty, and hollow without her. And then I saw it. A note on the bed.

Dread filled my chest as I walked over, my hand shaking as I picked up the letter.

Namjoon,

By the time you see this, I'll be gone, and so will we.

I saw the texts with Jessi. I saw everything, and I hope she can give you what you need because clearly, I wasn't enough. I can't stay where I'm not wanted. I love you, Namjoon, but I love myself more.

Please don't contact me. I'll come back for the rest of my things in a few days. I'm sorry I couldn't love you the way you needed. I hope she can.

Goodbye.

- Y/N

My heart sank as I read and reread the words, the weight of her absence crashing down on me. How could I let this happen? How had I let the best thing in my life slip through my fingers?

I pulled out my phone and dialed her number, but it went straight to voicemail. She had blocked me. Tears welled in my eyes as I sat down on the bed, clutching the letter like it was the only piece of her I had left.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N," I whispered, but it was too late. She was gone.

As Y/N sat across from IU, slowly eating dinner, Namjoon sat alone in their bedroom, filled with regret and self-loathing. His guilt consumed him, but he knew it was too late to fix things. Y/N was gone, and there was no turning back.

For Y/N, the pain was still fresh, the wounds still open, but she knew one thing for sure: she deserved more. She deserved someone who would fight for her, who would choose her over and over again. And as much as it hurt, she knew Namjoon wasn't that person.

This was the end of one chapter, but she knew it would lead to something greater. Even through the tears, Y/N knew she would come out of this stronger. And in the end, she would find the love she deserved.
