Walking into the office the next day, Jin couldn't wipe the grin off his face. The night had gone better than he ever could have imagined. He and Y/N had hit it off at IU's get-together, a small, intimate gathering that was more enjoyable than he had anticipated. Usually, he felt out of place at these events, but last night, everything just clicked—thanks to Y/N.

As he waited for the elevator, Jin's mind wandered back to the way they had spent the night together. Conversations flowed effortlessly, the sound of Y/N's laughter echoing in his ears. He remembered how the two of them danced, bodies moving in sync, with no care for the eyes around them. For a few hours, it felt like they were the only two people in the world. And then... that moment. The one where he had leaned in, close enough to kiss her. His heart had pounded in his chest, anticipating the feel of her lips on his. But just when it was about to happen—Hoseok had barged in, oblivious as ever.

Jin chuckled to himself, shaking his head. He couldn't even be mad. Hoseok's timing, though infuriating, had given him a chance to pump the brakes. After all, he didn't want to rush things with Y/N. No, she was different. She was special, and he wanted everything to be perfect, especially after everything she just went through with Namjoon.

"Woah, someone's in a good mood."

Jin jumped slightly at the voice beside him, glancing over to see Yoongi leaning casually against the wall, eyeing him with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah... yeah, I guess I am," Jin replied, unable to hide his smile.

Yoongi narrowed his eyes suspiciously but said nothing as the elevator doors slid open. The two of them stepped inside, and Jin leaned against the cool metal, letting his thoughts drift back to last night. Yoongi, on the other hand, watched his friend closely. It wasn't like Jin to be this distracted—especially after the anger he'd been carrying around yesterday. What had happened?

When they reached their floor, Yoongi followed Jin into the office, watching as Jin hummed to himself, an unusual brightness in his step. Something had definitely gone down.

The door clicked shut behind them, and Yoongi finally broke the silence.

"So... you wanna tell me what's going on, or do I have to pry it out of you?"

Jin smirked, his eyes lighting up as he turned to face his friend. "You really wanna know?"

Yoongi gave him a look. "Obviously. You went from storming around like a man possessed yesterday to grinning like a lovesick puppy today. Spill it."

Jin let out a laugh, leaning against his desk. "Fine. So, last night, at IU's thing..."

He started to recount the events of the night—how he and Y/N spent hours talking, how they danced, and how they nearly kissed. Every detail brought another smile to his face. As he spoke, Yoongi watched him closely, noticing the way Jin's entire demeanor shifted when he talked about Y/N. He'd never seen him like this before.

"So, you really like her," Yoongi said when Jin finished, his tone more serious now.

"Yeah," Jin admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "I do. I don't know, man. She's just... different. It's easy with her."

Yoongi nodded thoughtfully. "Sounds like it. Just don't screw it up by overthinking,"

Jin chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, I'll try."

"So do you plan on telling Namjoon?" Even though Yoongi didn't want to bring Jin down from this high he was feeling, however he knew it was a question that needed to be asked.

"Not right now, we're just getting to know each other, so who knows where this will go. Let's not poke the bear especially if things don't work out."

What neither of them realized, though, was that someone had been standing just outside the door, listening to every word.

Jessi.

She had been on her way to Jin's office, intending to drop off some paperwork when she overheard the conversation. Her hand hovered just above the door handle when she heard Jin mention Y/N's name. Her eyes narrowed, and she pressed her ear closer to the door, a smirk curling her lips as she absorbed the details.

So, Jin and Y/N were a thing now. Interesting. Jessi's mind raced as she began to concoct a plan, her fingers tightening around the folder in her hand. This could work. This could be exactly what she needed to make her next move.

"Jessi, what are you doing?"

She jumped at the voice behind her, turning to find Namjoon standing a few feet away, his eyes flicking from her to the door. His expression was unreadable, but the tight line of his jaw told her he wasn't in the best of moods.

"Oh, I was just about to drop these papers off for Jin," she replied smoothly, holding up the folder. "But it sounds like he's busy in there, talking to Yoongi about his little date with Y/N. Didn't want to interrupt."

Namjoon's face hardened, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. A date? The word hit him like a punch to the gut, though he tried to keep his reaction hidden. He'd known Jin had feelings for Y/N—Yoongi had told him as much. But he hadn't expected him to act on them so soon.

His chest tightened as an uncomfortable realization settled over him. Jin was making his move, and Y/N was reciprocating.

"Leave," Namjoon said coldly, his voice sharp enough to slice through the tension. His gaze shifted to Jessi, who blinked in surprise at the sudden command.

Jessi quickly composed herself, though, a sly smirk creeping across her face as she backed away. "Of course, Namjoon." She turned on her heel and sauntered down the hallway, her mind already working on her next move. If Y/N was the key to pushing Namjoon's buttons, she would use that. She was nothing if not resourceful.

Namjoon stood there for a moment, his fists clenched at his sides. He couldn't shake the bitter feeling gnawing at his insides. How could his best friend just step in the middle of this situation, how could he try to steal her away before he had the chance to fix things, maybe Jin wasn't a friend like he thought.

Inside Jin's office, the conversation had shifted to lighter topics, with Jin laughing about something Yoongi had said. But Namjoon couldn't bring himself to care. Not right now.

As he walked away, a single thought repeated in his mind.

*I will win her back, no matter what it takes*
