The cool evening breeze ruffled your hair as you stood outside your apartment, waiting for Namjoon to arrive. Your heart raced, torn between excitement and anxiety. You were still uncertain about this arrangement, about allowing yourself to open up to Namjoon again after everything that had happened. Yet, despite the doubts swirling in your mind, there was a familiar flutter in your chest—one that only Namjoon had ever managed to stir.

The quiet hum of a car engine drew your attention, and you spotted Namjoon pulling up to the curb. He stepped out of the car, his tall frame silhouetted against the dim glow of the streetlight. He looked nervous, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket, but there was something undeniably warm about the way he smiled when he saw you.

"Hey," he greeted softly, stepping closer. "You look beautiful."

You offered a small smile, brushing a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "Thanks. You ready?"

Namjoon nodded, gesturing toward his car. "I thought we could keep it simple tonight. Just dinner and maybe a walk. Something low-key."

You appreciated the thoughtfulness behind his plan—he wasn't trying to overwhelm you with a grand gesture or force a romantic atmosphere. He wanted to ease you into this, knowing full well that there was still a lot to work through between the two of you.

As you slid into the passenger seat, the quiet hum of the car surrounded you both, creating a calm, intimate space. Namjoon kept the conversation light as he drove, asking about your day, your work, and sharing bits of his own life. Despite the time that had passed since you were last together, it felt surprisingly easy to slip back into conversation with him. There was still a familiarity there, a connection that you couldn't quite shake.

The restaurant he had chosen was a small, cozy place on the outskirts of the city—a far cry from the flashy venues or trendy spots you might have expected. It was intimate and quiet, with warm lighting and rustic decor. Namjoon had always known how to find the perfect balance between thoughtful and unpretentious, and tonight was no different.

As you sat across from him at the small table, the candlelight flickering softly between you, Namjoon's eyes met yours with an intensity that made your heart skip a beat.

"I know this is... complicated," he began, his voice gentle but serious. "I don't expect you to trust me right away, or even to feel the same way you did back then. But I want you to know that I'm trying, Y/N. I'm not the same guy I was before. I've learned from my mistakes."

You looked down at your hands, fiddling with the edge of your napkin. "Namjoon... it's not that I don't believe you. I know you've changed. But it's hard for me to forget how things ended between us. And now with Jin... everything is just so messy."

Namjoon reached across the table, gently placing his hand over yours. The warmth of his touch sent a jolt through you, reminding you of all the times he had been your source of comfort and stability. "I know it's messy. But I don't want to give up on us, not when there's still something here. I can feel it, Y/N. And I think you can too."
