Dally came back inside the room with the pool table, his hands bloody and himself dripping sweat. "Get in my car." He said and then he started walking in the direction of his car I assumed. I subconsciously followed him and asked him why as we were walking. "We're going somewhere with medical supplies. Get in the passenger seat." He said.

I assumed he meant for himself so I gently grabbed his hand when we got in the car to examine it. "I'll bandage up your hand for you." I told him. He turned the key in the ignition after I let go of his hand and looked at me like I had spoken in another language, he really had that look that made you regret ever speaking. It reminded me of when you would ask a teacher a dumb question during class and be almost forced to follow it up with "Never mind." "My hand? My hand is fine doll. The medical supplies are for you." He said sounding like it was obvious.

All I could think was, "What?" This didn't make any sense to me. I was fine. Sure I had gotten hit but it's nothing more than what my dad considered an acceptable alarm clock for me. "No I'm alright. I don't need anything, I feel just fine." I told him. "You're at least taking some ice or something. Your face might bruise and your back has to hurt. I didn't mean to send you to the floor to you know." He said. I realized that I wasn't going to win this petty argument and said, "Fine. Thank you," just so he would quit. I was going to bandage up his hand regardless though.

After I agreed to take the medical attention that I didn't need Dally started driving the car. He turned the radio on a low volume and I found it difficult to stay awake as I watched the road in front of us and the trees pass by. I was put on the verge of passing out even more when Dally placed his warm and bloody hand on my cold and bare thigh. He made me feel safe and calm, I could easily fall asleep in his presence.

I came out of my half asleep state when he slammed on the breaks in front of a house. "We're here. Come on sweetheart, wake up." He said before parking the car and getting out of the car himself. As I unbuckled my seatbelt and rubbed the inner corner of my eyes as to not mess up my eye makeup my door was opened. I looked over and saw Dally, he looked even more gorgeous in the moonlight.

I got out of the car and closed my door before he led me up to the porch and knocked on the door of the house. "Is this not your house?" I asked him. I had assumed it was his place that he was taking me to. I didn't want to show up somewhere uninvited. "No. It's the Curtis house." He said. I recognized the last name but I couldn't remember where I had heard it. "I don't want to go into someone's home uninvited Dally, I'll be alright I'll walk home." I said as I turned around to head home. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me back up to him. "No, it's fine. They won't care. Don't be so polite." He said with a smile.

The front door opened soon after our discussion and I immediately realized where I had heard the name Curtis before. Sodapop Curtis, or the man that was standing at the door right now. We were in a lot of the same classes in school before he dropped out, and I'd spoken to him at the gas station a few times before. Every girl liked him so his business was widely spread around the school. I still remember how bad I felt for
him when I heard about Sandy running off to Florida after cheating on him. I didn't think that he would remember or recognize me. He hadn't been to school for months and I hadn't been to the gas station since my dad found out that guys pumped my gas there.

"Hey Dally. Why'd you knock? Mariana!" Soda said. I smiled at him and said, "Hey Sodapop." Dally was whipping his head back in forth between the two of us, giving Soda a much harsher look then he was giving me. "Come in, both of y'all." Soda said before motioning us to walk inside. Dally was jealous, it was written all over his face and body language. Once waking inside the house he shoved his hands in his pockets and seemed to be giving Soda the cold shoulder. There were boys scattered all over the house, a couple in the kitchen and a couple in the living room. They glanced at me and Dally once we entered the house, giving small waves and greetings to the both of us.

"Well Mari, how have you been? It's been a while. You stopped coming to the gas station." Soda said trying to break the awkward silence that Dally created I assume. "I've been pretty good. Yeah I'm sorry I got in trouble for going there, but I miss y'all." I told him. I think he knew it was a lie that I've been pretty good though. My business was also something that got spread around often. The whole town knew about my mom, friend, and dad. Luckily the whole town didn't know about my CPTSD, neither did Soda.

"I've been good myself. We hope to see you back someday, real nice car that you have." He said. Dally huffed a couple more times before saying loudly, "Did y'all date or something? Did y'all used to kiss or something? Y'all want to kiss right now? Go ahead I don't care." I looked at him blankly, reflecting on how dramatic that reaction was. Soda let out an awkward laugh and started scratching the back of his neck. "No, we've never dated or kissed. I don't want to kiss him right now, sorry Soda. We used to speak in class and I bought gas off of him often." I told Dally. His face looked more relived but he still looked angry.

"Good." Dally said before grabbing my hand and leading me to the bathroom. I hoped that this was ok, I was running around in someone's house that I barely knew. Me and Soda weren't close enough for me to consider him a friend, we only knew each other from gossip and brief conversations that were mostly about neither of us understanding the material in class.

Dally lightly pushed me into the bathroom and locked the door after. I moved out of the way as I watched him rummage through the cabinets in search of various medical supplies. He pulled out some generic medication, bandaids, and some healing ointment. From the looks of it he was going to let me bandage up his hand, and I was thankful if that was the truth.

"I don't believe that you're fine. What hurts?" He said. "I am fine. My back and head hurt from y'all landing on top of me but that's it. No big deal." I told him. He handed me some pills and a cup of water but I refused the cup of water and took the pills dry. I thought using a random cup from the bathroom of a house of all guys that I didn't know well enough was gross. "You need some water." Dally said. He then opened the bathroom door slightly and yelled from the crack, "Bring me an ice pack and some type of drink, and hurry up."

"That'll take a while. They're in no rush." Dally said. I laughed and gently grabbed his hand. "You want me to fix up your hand now? You were the one in the fight, you're more important than I am. I really do appreciate you beating him up to. That was nice." I said. "I wasn't being nice, I was just doing what had to be done man. He deserved it. But whatever. Hurry up on my hand." He said while looking away from me, almost like he was shameful of his words.

I put the healing ointment on his hands and lightly wrapped them up after I was done. The cuts weren't deep, he should be healed up within a day or two if he doesn't beat up someone else and deepen the wounds within that timeframe.

After I finished up his hands he asked me if I wanted to sit down. I said yes, thinking he would take us out of the bathroom or something. But he cleared off the bathroom countertop, then picked me up by my hips and sat me on top of it. I didn't fight him lifting me but it did make my cheeks turn slightly red.

I started looking at his face, at first I was trying to make sure he didn't have a busted lip or a black eye but it soon turned into me looking into his beautiful brown eyes. "You know I didn't mean to hit you to the ground too right? I didn't think straight and when I realized what was going to happen he was already falling and hooked onto you. I am um.. I'm um.. mad. Really mad that I didn't think before doing that. I'm real mad man." He said looking me in the eyes the whole time until the last part. After stating the fact that he was supposedly mad he looked back into my eyes. We maintained the eye contact.

"Yeah I know, don't worry. I didn't think that you meant to, it seemed like an accident to me." I said. We were both subconsciously leaning into each others faces. Before we knew it our noses were almost touching, but we didn't back up. We continued to look each other in the eyes and Dally's hands found their way to my waist. "Good." Dally said. After he spoke we both tilted our heads slightly and continued to lean in before we eventually kissed each other.
