Bucky's POV:

Bucky woke up gasping, from a nightmare. But this nightmare was different, not the usual Winter Soldier nightmare. He was in the forest, the one he took Aurora to on her first day on Earth. It was dark, and he was wondering around the forest. Suddenly Aurora appeared out of nowhere. He ran to her trying to hug her but when he got closer to her, he noticed she was in a cage. He tried to do everything he could to get her out of the cage. She kept repeating: "It is your fault" over and over again. He also remembers hearing laughter coming from the woods. It sounded like Odin was mocking him. Then he appeared in front of Bucky and pointed to the cage. He saw his alter ego in the cage strangling Aurora and Odin saying: "You killed her." And that's when he woke up.

Alpine nuzzles him, he smiles. "I'm alright girl."

Alpine mewls softly and licks his hand. He gets out of bed and strolls to the kitchen to get a glass of water. When he is in the kitchen he pours himself a glass of water and feeds Alpine.

She stares at the bowl, then at Bucky and turns her head as if to say: "I'm not eating."

Bucky sighs and grabs an apple out the fruit bowl and takes a bite out of it. "Now will you eat?"

Alpine watches Bucky eat, she looks down at her bowl and takes a nibble out of her food.

Bucky smiles and finishes the apple, as Alpine finishes her food at the same time. "Good girl."

Bucky looks out the kitchen window. It's dark and he knows everyone is probably asleep. But Bucky still decides to head to Steve's room, when he gets there he knocks on his door.

Steve opens up, he is wearing a pair of  black joggers and a white vest. He rubs his eyes to get some of the sleep out of his eyes. "Hey Buck are you ok?"

"I had a nightmare." Bucky says softly.

Steve steps out of the room so they don't disturb Natasha. "The Winter Solider again?"

Bucky shakes his head. "No this one was different, it was about Aurora." Bucky and him head to the kitchen and Bucky explains the nightmare he had to Steve.

Steve takes a sip of the coffee he made him and Bucky. "You shouldn't blame yourself for what happened."

"I'm trying, but I just feel like I could've done something to prevent Aurora from ever being locked up." Bucky replies.

There's a moment of silence before Bucky speaks again. "I think I'm going to leave...'"

Steve gives him a confused look. "What do you mean 'you're going to leave?'"

"I can't be an Avenger anymore Steve. I cant keep going on with my life knowing I can no longer see Aurora. I can't pretend to be okay and get on with my life while she's probably suffering. So yeah, I'm leaving. I don't know for how long, or where I'm going to go but you can't stop me Steve." Bucky declares.
