"I cleaned all of the sheets. I made all the beds. The rooms smell good. I washed all of our clothes. I got the foods that they like. I think I did everything to be prepared for their arrival," Taylor said more to herself than to Tree as she paced around the kitchen.
"Taylor, calm down," Tree told her with a laugh. She knew that Taylor was excited to see her best friend, but she had never seen her like this. She hadn't stopped moving since she woke up this morning. "Sit down, rest yourself. You've been moving about since you got up this morning."
"I just want everything to be ready," Taylor tried to explain to her mother.
"I understand, but it's okay to take a break." Just as Tree finished her sentence, the doorbell rang.
"Blake!" Taylor screamed and ran out of the kitchen.
"Ryan!" Michael yelled, a few steps behind his mother. Taylor got to the door and opened it, seeing Kylie there. "Aw, it's just Ky." Michael said, a frown appearing on his face.
"Wow. That hurt," Kylie said, noticing the excitement in Taylor's face also drained away the way Michael's did upon seeing her.
"Don't feel too bad; Ky. Blake should be here any minute," Tree explained from the kitchen doorway.
"Oh yeah, I forgot," Kylie replied. She walked further into the home and found herself seated on the couch next to Travis.
"Don't worry, Ky, I got the same reaction when I got here about 15 minutes ago," Travis explained to Kylie with a laugh.
"If she wasn't excited to see you, then I am very much a dead man walking here." Kylie's words made Travis burst out in a healthy chuckle.
"I don't blame her for being excited. I think me and the boys get the same way when we hear Chris is coming to town," Travis said, defending his overexcited girlfriend. Her excitement made him happy. He had spent a great deal of their nights together, talking to Blake and Ryan on speakerphone with Taylor. Blake was truly Taylor's friendship soulmate, and Travis was aware of that.
"Have they been like this all morning?" Kylie asked, watching both Taylor and Michael stand at the window, looking out and watching each car whiz by.
"Pretty much," Tree confirmed. "Taylor has been keeping herself busy, doing different things, but overall, her excitement has been the same."
"I think it's cute. She hasn't seen her best friend in almost two months," Travis said, looking over at his girlfriend and son.
"Of course, you would think it's cute," Kylie said, rolling her eyes at him.
"It is kind of cute, you have to admit," Lance said from the top of the stairs.
"Oh no, the girl dad has entered the chat," Kylie said, glancing up at the top of the stairs to see Lance leaning on the banister.
"You're always such a hater," Taylor joked to Kylie as she walked over to sit down in Travis's lap. "First, you didn't like Travis's girlfriend proposal, and now you don't like that I'm excited to see Blake."
