A/N: I kind of said this last chapter but I wanted to repeat it, there are scenes that are extremely similar to scenes from Legacy but I will not be following much of the plot and it will not line up with the book. For example the whole ability reset thing will not be happening.

"Hiya Fitzy!" Keefe says, seemingly unfazed. He probably remembered this moment, while Sophie had been too caught up in their conversation to think about what came next. "Didn't know you'd be stopping by."

Fitz glared. "Clearly."

Keefe smirked, "Wow, someone's grumpy. Did Biana kick your butt in Bramble again? He haaaaaaaates to lose." He leaned over and staged whispered to Sophie, "But I guess you probably already knew that about your boyfriend."

She knew Keefe was doing this just to spite her not breaking up with him. They would be having a talk about that.

"Or maybe you're upset about being excluded from the Councillers' super fun club. Your girlfriend has already started making people call her Lady Fos-Boss."

Sophie pushed him, he fell dramatically to the floor. She smiled until Fitz's words made any joy drop from her face.

"Seriously Sophie, what did Keefe mean about you being unmatchable."

Last time, Keefe had explained but he could clearly feel her need to respond so he nodded to her. "I don't know my biological parents, they can't match me with anyone."

Sophie explained what happened, but she could just tell that Fitz was getting angrier, "How am I supposed to date you if you're unmatchable?"

She took a step back, "I mean, does it really matter that much?"

"Does it matter?" Fitz started to stalk over to her but Keefe stepped in front of her, protecting her.

"You realized she went there for you right? It's not her fault, it's Forkle's go talk to him."

"I have the right to talk to my girlfriend, so move." Sophie almost gagged at his use of the term. She watched in fear as Fitz pushed past Keefe.

She did the first thing she could think of. She transmitted to Grady I'm in my room by myself with Keefe.

She could feel the rush of angry thoughts coming from him before she cut off the connection.

"Sophie?" Fitz said he was really close now.

"Yeah?"

"I want you to know that I'm willing to wait until you figure everything about your parents out."

Sophie smiled at him, no idea how else to respond.

Fitz started to lean closer, it seemed like he wanted to kiss her. Sophie was moments away from pushing him away when Grady ran into the room. Fitz pulled away from her immediately.

"Anyone that isn't my daughter get out of here!" He yelled. Fitz and Keefe nodded, but Keefe put up a motion of a phone to his ear indicating to call him. Fitz wasn't up to date on human expressions like that so he just looked confused at the motions.

After they got kicked out and Grady calmed down he left her alone. Sophie pulled her window open and jumped out, opening the void and falling out of it at the Shores of Solace.

Keefe was sitting on the porch when she got there and he led her upstairs avoiding Cassius. Ro was apparently patrolling around the perimeter.

"Today was...intense." Sophie starts when they're comfortable on Keefe's bed.

"Yeah, I don't remember him being that mad last time, I'm so sorry I didn't protect you more."

"It's okay, I was about to punch him before Grady came in."

"Of course you were," Keefe says with a smirk.

"It was kind of your fault using the boyfriend-girlfriend thing." she complained, flopping back on the bed, "We hadn't confirmed anything, but now I'm basically cheating on him."

"Technically you're cheating on me, I'm your husband. That beats boyfriend any day." Keefe corrects me and I smack his shoulder.

"Do you want to explain to Fitz why and how I'm married at 16?"

"Uggggggggh," Keefe groans, exasperated, "How about this, next time you see him you break up. What if you just speed up what happened, tell him you found your mother but don't want to pursue the unmatchable thing."

Sophie smiles, surprised by the idea, "Wait, that might actually work."

"Did you ever doubt me?" Keefe asks with a smirk.

Sophie just pulls him in for a hug, releasing him she lays down on his bed, and Keefe follows, "I just want this all to be over!"

"You have to admit, once you break up with Fitz it could be kind of fun, the sneaking around, the espionage. You could be Black Widow and I'll be Nick Fury."

Sophie smiled, "You could be right, maybe we'll get Iggy to attack your eye. It will make it feel real."

Keefe laughed and Sophie curled in closer to him. Although this wasn't ideal, Keefe was right they really should take advantage of this, and have some fun. Yes, the Neverseen were horrible, but there were moments that Sophie wished she could have enjoyed if she had known that everything was going to be okay.

With those pleasant thoughts and fatigue from the long day, Sophie fell asleep pretty quickly.
