Keefe lead Sophie's numb body through a light leap to a beach in the forbidden cities. She sat down and stared at the waves, lapping up at the shore. Keefe sat next to her, drawing circles on her back with his fingers. The words were replaying in her head.

He couldn't tell you that your father is me.

"Everyone's going to hate me,"

Keefe sighed, "You don't have to tell them."

"Of course I have to!" Sophie yelled, breaking the silence of the nature, "I'm the daughter of a murderer. I'm the daughter of the man who killed one of the Forkle twins."

Keefe stayed silent.

Sophie ran a hand through her hand, "I don't-" Sophie's voice broke, "I don't know what to do." Tears started streaming down her face and she tried hopelessly to dry them. She turned away from Keefe in embarrassment.

Keefe turned her face back towards her, "Darling, look at me. You are not him. He just gave you DNA, not a personality, not moral values. You are always telling me that I am not my parents, remember it goes both ways. When I found out about my mother, you were there for me every step of the way. You didn't assume I was like her."

Sophie stared into his ice-blue eyes, holding concern and love for her that at that moment she didn't think she deserved. Sophie stood up abruptly, "We should probably get back to Edaline and Grady's house,"

"Edaline and Grady, not mom and dad?" Keefe asked, standing with her.

"Doesn't really matter, does it?" Keefe's eyes widened at her response, but he didn't say anything.

----------

They walked into the house and all of their friends were sitting there. Edaline stood as they entered, "I thought you might want to tell everyone the good news,"

Sophie flinched, how was Gethen being her father good news?

"Sophie, are you alright?"

No, no I'm not alright.

"You were so excited a couple of hours ago. Maybe Keefe wants to reveal it," Edaline suggested slowly, unsure of what was going on.

Oh.

"Oh, yeah," Keefe said, "Well everyone we have an announcement. Since there isn't a way to predict anything that is going to happen we wanted to have something that was solid. Something that wouldn't change, so I asked Foster to marry me."

The room erupted into muttering and gasps as Sophie held up her left hand displaying her ring.

"When's the wedding?" Biana exclaimed, "Wait, I need to help you get a dress, I'm going to organize everything."

Sophie forced a smile, "Thank you so much Biana. I don't know when it's going to happen, but I don't want anything too big."

Biana groaned, "Fine, but you are still going to look beautiful,"

Everyone else seemed to follow Biana's enthusiasm and got up to give Sophie and Keefe hugs, helping her almost forget about what she had just found out. She might be able to put it aside for a wedding, but it wasn't going away completely.

She knew better than to think it would be over that quickly and she knew better than to forget about it. A plan was already forming in her head, something that would never have formed without Gethen's reveal, something she didn't know if even Keefe could stand by her if she did it. She would go along with the wedding, celebrate and have fun, but after she would be addressing the truth.

She would address who her father was, and what that meant for her.
