For the ones who didn't read the last part in the previous chapter, this twist in the tale was not because of not completing the target, so CHILLL! XD
Anaya's POV
"I have good news!" Abhi exclaimed and my eyes went wide. What?
"How can you be pregnant!?" I practically screamed and Abhi went silent. It took him almost a minute to process what I said and then burst out laughing. I huffed as he made fun of me but I couldn't control the small smile that slipped across my lips.
"Achha now tell me na, what is with the 'good news' thing?" I whined as he still continued to laugh and irk me more.
I know my guess or attempt to it was illogical but come on! It wasn't this funny.
Abhi nodded as he tried to put a stop at his fits of laughter. I huffed as I waited another 5 minutes for him to stop laughing. It was not even that funny and it no longer is. I pouted and kept it that way.
Abhi cleared his throat before he spoke, "Uhm sorry!" He snickered again but this time my glare was good enough to drag him back to line. "Uhm I was eager to tell you that... Do you remember I had to attend a meeting in a bank for-"
"-For our home?" I interrupted him as soon as I recollected it.
"Yes!" He said as a smile made its way on his lips. "The meeting was successful! We have more than enough savings to get a loan for our dream home. All we need to do is start looking for one now!" A shriek escaped my lips as he completed his sentence.
Finally our dream about our own home, big and comfortable, would be fulfilled. But this house has too many memories in it to let go of it.
I smile dimmed as this thought occupied me and Abhi asked, "Hey, love! What's wrong?"
"I don't want to sell off this house. It has so many memories. It is the first ever property I was able to purchase, it was the first place of my own, it was where Aishu grew up, where I met you, where Ahaana came into our lives..." I walked down the memory lane as my mood dampened at the thought of selling this house.
"I guess you didn't hear my words properly Mrs. Abhimanyu. Let me repeat them for you, 'We have more than enough savings to get a loan for our dream home. All we need to do is start looking for one now!'" He said with a smile as he made me sit beside him.
Enough savings... Savings!?
I snapped my head towards him with a smile spread across my face, "Savings? We don't need to sell our house?"
Abhi chuckled as he said, "No! We can put this up on rent, this way we would have an extra source of income as well as still hold on to this precious home of ours."
I shrieked with happiness and hugged him tight while also being careful not to trigger his injuries.
Soon after, the kids arrived with Kanika and stayed there. Kanika left soon after though, she looked nervous. Or maybe anxious about something...
No matter how much we try, she is not opening up to us. I know she still needs time but the way she has changed, the drastic changes in her behaviour, these things tense me a lot. But on the other hand, I can't force her. She trusts me with the promise Abhi and I made to her and I do not intend to break it. I will be there with her whenever she needs me to be.
A few weeks passed by in a jiffy. Abhi was healing well and just had a few scars which the doctor said would slowly fade away. We soon started looking for a house, suitable enough to become our home.
