A D V A I T

It's only been one day and Nani and Maya are already besties. I mean today they both went somewhere leaving me and Nanu alone.

But anyways, I'm starving to hell. I have never done fast before. This is the first time I'm doing it, and I don't know why I'm even doing it. As soon as I got to know that Maya needs to fast my heart made me do the same.

In the morning I woke up earlier than usual but this time Maya was on her side clutching her bedsheet like her life depended on it. She looks calm when she sleeps and absolutely opposite when she is awake. I got up and took a bath then wore the maroon kurta and dhoti which Nani arranged for me.

After that I went downstairs and Nani asked me about Maya "Advait where is Maya?" I replied "Nani she is still sleeping" now I know Nani will scold her for waking up late.

"Oh that child must be so tired. She was helping me yesterday with the Pooja preparation, let her sleep some more" Nani said and went upstairs. With this I was again proved wrong nevermind though.

After sometime Nani came downstairs and behind her emerged my wife in a purple Maharashtrian Nauvari saree and damn I will be lying if I said she isn't beautiful because she looks so beautiful that I can't help but stare at her. Her hair was tied in a bun and she wore a nath. I mean she really looks like a Maharashtrian bride. My bride.

She was staring at me too I don't know but her eyes roamed over my outfit for good 10 seconds. Nanu broke our trance with this we went for the Pooja.

Nani was teaching Maya about the ritual and Maya was doing everything accordingly. All the time I was only looking at her. I mean don't blame me, she is fabulously pretty.

Soon it was time to take 7 rounds around the tree but suddenly her foot stuck with the rock and she was about to fall but I held her just in time. She was about to leave my grip and continue the rounds but I noticed her toe which was bleeding.

So I immediately picked her up in bridal style and at that moment it felt like heaven to hold her in my arms, her hands around my neck, her breath uneven, her eyes wide, and I can't help but feel the electric current passing through my body at her touch.

We both completed the 7 rounds around the tree but I wanted to hold her for some more time, but I couldn't because she isn't the one I should be here with, so I placed her down and I saw that Nani and Nanu were wiggling their brows at me.

I ignored them and with this we went home and Nani and Maya went somewhere.

It was probably night when Maya and Nani returned.They seemed happy, especially Maya. She was grinning all the time.

But here my stomach was aching for food. I haven't had a single bite of food since yesterday night.

But I shrugged that thought away and tried to sleep.

That's it, I can't sleep. I don't know why but my stomach was continuously rumbling due to hunger. I was just tossing on the bed but sleep was far away.

I saw my wife who was sleeping quite comfortably on her side. I decided to wake her up because I don't know how to cook and if I even tried it's going to be a disaster.

So I poked her cheeks to wake her up, her eyebrows frowned in discomfort and she gruffly woke up.

I told her about my rumbling stomach and with this we both went towards the kitchen and she made pulao. We actually had a good chat while she cooked and I discovered that it's fun talking with her. And the pulao was so tasty my God I was literally having it like an animal.
