[11. Shadow Play]

"I'm so excited!" MK cheered, raising a fist in the air, "I haven't been to the movies in ages!"

Finally — after what felt like hundreds of years — the five of you were having a nice get-together.

Honestly, you missed the times when you and the others could hang out without a demon attacking the city.

Nevertheless, you gave MK an awkward look the moment you heard what he had just stated.

"Uh... Kid? This ain't a cinema." Pigsy commented before Tang intervened, "It's a shadow play with puppets."

"Whaaatt? Puppets? Noo!!" MK pouted, abruptly taking the Monkey Cop poster out of his pocket, "I thought we were seeing Kung Fu Monkey Cop : The Movie! Fox handed it to me earlier."

With a palm on your chest, you let out a loud gasp, "Hey! Don't blame me! Check the back."

When MK finally saw the back of the poster, his entire face was filled with despair. 

Why wouldn't he? The last time he went to the movies was when you and Jiu Wei Hu invited him to see Monkey Cop 1.

He then put the poster back in his pocket before looking up to see a familiar individual seated on one of the surrounding benches.

Noticing the familiar face, he quickly yelled, "Oh! (Y/n), Mei, isn't that the guy who gave us that weird key?"

"You mean the magic key that can unlock anything?" Mei arched an eyebrow, casting a doubtful glance at the mayor, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is him."

In addition to what she stated, you awkwardly avoided making eye contact with the creepy guy, "And I'm sure he's not the real mayor."

The mayor saw the stares that you three were giving him, you quickly pretended not to see him, but the others strangely continued to gaze into those lifeless eyes of his.

'Creepy.'

He reminded you of that Lady Bone Demon.

Strange, huh?

"Point is, whatever we're watching, you two have earned a break." Pigsy tried to lighten the mood back up once more by grinning proudly at you and MK.

"You two have been training super hard, especially you MK." Mei reminded, "I can't even remember the last time we all just hung out together!"

She put her arms around MK's shoulder and yours, "I missed this. I mean, we just went to the arcade yesterday, (Y/n). But, us three hanging out together again has become quite unusual."
