Chapter 9

ABIGAIL'S POV

My eyes widened as I saw Beau sitting at our table. What was he doing here? He stared at me with his magnificent blue eyes. I felt the panic rise. I felt William put his hand on my back.

"You okay?" He whispered in my ear.

"Y-yeah I'm fine," I answered cursing at myself for stuttering.

I walked to the table and brought William with me. I sat down.

"Good afternoon Abigail," Beau said.

"Good afternoon Beau, " I said meeting his gaze. I grinned in victory, when my voice came out smoothly.

I felt William put his hand over mine, and I gave him a warm smile. He was becoming very important to me. My mom came in followed by Chase and my dad. I got up and hugged my dad.

"Who's this young man Abby," he asked gesturing toward William.

William got up and came over toward us.

"Daddy this is William Browning, " I said smiling at him.

William held out his hand,"Nice to meet you sir."

My dad returned the handshake,"Nice to meet you son. Not trying to become embarrassing, but what intentions do you have with my daughter?"

My eyes widened and a blush appeared on my face. William gave me a smile.

"Well, sir right now I'm just getting the pleasure to meet her, but I hope that someday she'll become my girlfriend. Like I've told her, I'm trying really hard to get her to be my girlfriend," he answered smoothly.

My dad looked at him surprised,"Well if that does happen, you have my approval."

I smiled. We all went back to the table and I sat in between William and Chase. We began eating while everyone made conversation. I grinned at how well everyone was getting along with William. I glanced at Beau, and he hadn't said a word. I stared curiously at him until his blue eyes met mine. "What's wrong?" I mouthed. "Tired," he mouthed back. I nodded my head and continued eating. I felt William take my hand and I looked at him. His eyes looked grey today and they were shining.

"I think I gotta go, it's getting late," he told me. I nodded.

"Daddy, Mom William has to go," I told them.

"It's been a pleasure meeting all of you, and I hope I get the chance to see you more," he said and I blushed.

"Thank you for joining William," my mom said kindly.

"No ma'am thank you. Everything was delicious," he said smiling at my mom.

"You're welcome to come anytime son. I like you for my daughter, " my dad said.

"Thank you sir. Now if all of you will excuse me, I really have to go," he said.

I walked him to the door.

"I loved having you here," I said.

He smiled at me,"Me too Abby. I'll see you tomorrow at school."

"Okay," I said hugging him.

He hugged me back and kissed my cheek and then left. I closed the door behind him and turned around. Beau was there staring at me. I gasped and my eyes widened.

"You two are getting close Abby," he told me and I think jealousy was etched in his voice.

"Yeah we are," I said smiling.

I walked away from him and toward my room. I cheered myself on. He wasn't going to play with my feelings.
