Chapter 36

Beau's Pov

I took a sharp intake of breath as I realized what she said. Why was she acting like this? Why wasn't she seeing the positive view of anything anymore? Had I done that? Had I made her cold by not telling her what she needed to hear? Was this all my fault?

"It's not your fault Beau," Chase said patting my shoulder.

"It feels like it," I mumbled and stood up, chasing after her.

"Abby! Wait up."

I ran toward her, putting my arm around her waist.

"Why are you running from everyone? Why are you so cold to everyone now? Even your parents. I deserve it, but they don't."

She turned to look at me her eyes rimmed red,"You don't understand anything. They'll just hurt more if they see me die. If I push them away, they'll be accustomed to me not being there. Don't you see? I'm nothing Beau. I can't do this to them or you. I'm sorry."

I stared into her green eyes, looking for my Abby, but there wasn't a trace of her. This girl in front of me was different. I took a step away from her, still looking for a trace of the Abby I loved.

"You'll regret it. We all care for you. We want to be there for you. We want you to feel our love and our support. Do you know how many people like you, wish for what we're trying to give you? You won't even let us near."

"It's better that way."

I chuckled sadly,"You're hurting us more this way. I just hope you figure it out before it's to late."

I turned and walked away from, hoping that she would come after me. She didn't. I really didn't know what to expect from her now. It's only been a day, but it's like she's completely transformed into that. A tear rolled down my cheek. Maybe it really was all my fault. I was to blame.

One week later...

Abigail's Pov

"Abby? Are you feeling okay?" my mom asked.

"Y-yeah I'm just feeling a little dizzy," I said holding my head in my hand.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'll just go lay down for a little bit."

I turned around and left the kitchen, trying to control the dizziness that swept over me. I held onto the staircase and slid down the wall, holding my head in the process. I couldn't see anything, my sight was slowly fading. I felt the pain seconds later, shooting through my body in waves. The screams that left my lips, showed not even a fraction of the pain I was feeling.

I heard voices, but their voices were fading away. The darkness swept over me.

I woke up in a familiar room. The one that I had been in a few times over the past few months. I slowly lifted my head, seeing my parents in chairs beside me. Their heads were on my hospital bed, but Chase wasn't anywhere. I laid my head back down and sighed. What had happened?

I heard the door open, and I swiftly turned toward the sound. I smiled at the familiar brunette.

"Hey Chase."

"Abby, how are you feeling?"

"Pretty good."

"That's good."

"I guess so. What happened?"

"Another seizure."

"What? Another one?"
