Chapter 23
Abigail's Pov
I officially hated Valentine's Day. Everywhere I went there were couples. Holding hands. Kissing. Being all mushy. Staring at each other. That includes Willa and Bryson. I swear they never let each other go. So, yep here I was stuck with the lovebirds. I prayed Shane would come soon, or I would literally go crazy or break down crying. I turned toward the cafeteria doors, and there he came! I was jumping for joy, until I saw him holding a girl's hand. My eyes went wide and I groaned. I face planted into the table, banging my nose really hard in the process. Ow! That wasn't a good idea. I heard masculine laughter behind me, and I turned to glare at the person. My eyes widened when I saw Beau.
"What?" I snapped, trying to sound unfazed by seeing him.
He was making it so hard! His black hair had grown out, and it came to his piercing blue eyes. He had on a tight black shirt and sweats. I'm guessing he just came from gym.
He chuckled,"Nothing. I mean I was just walking in, and all of a sudden I see you face plant into the table! And no one pushed you either."
I glared at him,"I'm sooooooooooooo tired of seeing mushy couples everywhere!"
He laughed,"Yeah me too. How about we ditch?"
Ditch? That sounded pretty nice. And with Beau? DEFINITELY!
My eyes widened,"Really?"
His eyes held a glint of mischief,"Duh!"
I smiled in excitement,"Let's go."
I turned to tell Willa, but she was in a make out session with Bryson. I wrinkled my nose, and thought better about it. I smiled at Beau, and he grabbed my hand. Electricity shot up my arm, and my heart started beating wildly. We left the school and walked to his silver truck. I felt like a ninja!
"I've never done this before," I said.
"I know."
"So, where are we going?"
He smiled,"It's a surprise!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
I groaned. I hated surprises! We drove in silence. Him smirking slightly and me sulking. He kept on grinning, and I felt the truck stop. I turned toward the window, seeing something that took my breath away. We were at a waterfall! I felt excitement. I loved waterfalls! I turned toward Beau, and he was looking at me with something I couldn't define. He started leaning in and my breath hitched. I turned and his lips pressed against my cheek. A rosy tinge found my cheeks. He pulled away and smiled at me. I couldn't wait to see what he had planned.
