Chapter 33

Abigail's Pov

"No."

"How about this one?" Chase asked.

I stared at the dress in horror,"NO!"

"What's wrong with it?"

"It's short!"

"I think it's beautiful."

"You think everything that's short is beautiful. I want a long dress Chase! Not one that stops right at the curve of my butt. You would think that  you'd disapprove of a dress like this for your sister. The answer is no."

"Fineeee."

I laughed,"I should have brought mom instead."

"Too late now."

"You have no sense of fashion what so ever."

"I'm wounded."

"That's good."

"Just shut up and look for a dress."

I giggled,"Yes sir."

Two hours later, I wanted to give up. There were so many dresses, so why couldn't I find one that I liked? I sighed. This was taking forever! We walked into another store, and started looking around.

"Hello, my name is Darren. Do you need any help ma'am?"

I looked up to see a young man in front of me. I smiled,"Yes please. I'm trying to find a prom dress."

"What kind of dress?"

"Umm a long one? I also want it a peach color."

"A few dresses just came in. There are some that are the color of peach. If you'd like to try them on, that is."

I grinned,"Yes please!"

"Okay, I'll go get them. Wait in the dressing room."

"Okay thank you."

He nodded and left. I walked toward Chase and pulled him to the dressing room.

"Did you find one?" he asked.

"Not yet."

He groaned,"I never want to come shopping again."

"I feel ya."

Darren made his way toward us. There were about five dresses in each of his arms. They were all the color peach. I grinned, if I was lucky one of these would be the perfect dress!

"Thank you," I said taking the dresses from his arms.

I stepped into one of the dressing rooms, and slipped out of my clothes. I pulled the first dress over my head, and let it flow beneath me. I turned to look in the mirror and I gasped. The color contrasted against my skin perfectly. It showed enough cleavage to look classy and elegant. It was one shoulder and it had beads along the waistline. The slit went up to my upper thigh. I stood there breathless. It was perfect. I knew none of the other dresses would compare to this one.

"Abigail? Are you almost finished?" Chase asked.

"I found it!!"

"FINALLY! Let me see!"

I giggled and opened the door. I flattened the dress over my stomach and stood in front of Darren and Chase. They stared. Like just plain out stared.

I blushed,"Is it okay?"

"You look gorgeous! Beau's going to be speechless!"

I giggled,"You think so?"

"Yes!"

"I must say that many young ladies have tried on this dress, but none have looked as stunning as you," Darren said.

"Thank you."

"Now, we should go and get your fittings so it will be perfect. You should get this dress on Thursday of this week."

I smiled,"Okay."

After the fittings, we left. I had finally found a dress! I pulled out my phone and texted Beau.

"Abby leave that phone! You have to drive!"

"Fineeee!"

"GO!"

I jumped into the dirver's seat and drove home. Thankfully without any problems! I walked into my room and ran straight to bed. It was barely one. I still had a while before chemo. I knew when I was going to tell Beau. I'd tell him the day after prom. I sighed, it's going to be so hard. I ran my hands through my hair. I felt the strands cling to my hand, and I stared. My hair was starting to fall out. Soon, I wouldn't have any. I clung to the locks of hair in my hand, and tears rolled down my face. It was becoming reality. A pang went through my head, and I closed my eyes. They were coming more often. And much stronger. I couldn't help but take it as a bad sign. It had been roughly two weeks that I was on chemo. Four more weeks, then I could see if I would be able to have the surgery. I walked to my dresser and pulled out five sheets of paper. I also pulled out a pencil. I stared at the sheets of paper, these would be my goodbye letters. To my parents, Chase, Shane, Willa, and Beau. I wiped the tears off of my cheeks when I finished. I didn't know if I would live or not, but I wanted them to have something from me in case I didn't make it. By the time I finished, it was time for chemo. I hated having this tumor. I hated it so much.
