Chapter 24

Beau's Pov

I stared at her beautiful face. Did I really just try to kiss her? I mentally face palmed. I couldn't mess this up. I wanted her. I wanted her so bad. I didn't care that I'd be away for college. I really didn't. All I cared about was her. I swear I was so scared when we couldn't find her. The snowstorm had lasted a long time, and no on knew where she was.

I was sitting at my desk, staring at the computer in front of me. I had an essay due, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. My mind kept roaming to Abigail. I heard Chase's familiar ring tone, and I instantly answered.

"Yo bro what's up?"

"Beau is there any chance Abigail is with you?"

Abigail?

"Umm no. Why?"

He sighed in frustration,"We can't find her. She went out a few hours ago, and we can't get a hold of her."

My eyes widened and I instantly shot up,"Let's go look for her Chase!"

"We can't. There's to much snow. Even if we went, we wouldn't be able to see anything."

I groaned,"Where could she be?"

"I don't know, but I have to keep calling people."

"Okay. Call me if you have any news."

"I will."

He ended the call. Tears formed in my eyes. Yes, Tears. Where is she? I hope she was okay. I fell on my knees and covered my face with my hands. The tears finally fell down my cheeks. I couldn't live without her. I loved her. My eyes widened. I loved her? I did love her. With everything in me. I couldn't lose her! I hadn't even been able to tell her! My tears increased, and I did something I hadn't done in years. I prayed. I prayed for the girl I loved. The one I didn't want to lose. I prayed for her safety. I stayed on the floor for a long time. I'm not sure how long, but I knew my tears had dried. I felt my phone ringing, and I answered quickly.

"They found her! She's in the hospital. We're leaving right now. Come on."

Chase hung up, but I ran out the door. I ran to their house, feeling the cold wind pierce my skin. I got in their car, and they drove off. Everything was silent, except for the muffled sobs of Mrs. Lopez. We parked in front of the hospital and we all ran inside. The doctor was waiting for us. Her eyes looked sad.

"Are you the Lopez Family?" She asked.

"Yes," Mr. Lopez answered.

"Well, we've stabilized her, but she's entered a coma. We're not sure when she'll wake up. It could be a few hours, days, months, or .. years. She seems fine, except she stayed in the cold too long without any protection. I'm pretty positive she'll be awake in a week 's time, but we can never be sure."

She left afterward, leaving us to our thoughts. Mrs, Lopez was clinging to her husband, saying over and over again "Not my baby. Please God not my baby."

I started crying again and Chase looked at me. Tears were making a pattern down his cheeks. A nurse came and showed us the way to her room. I let her parents and Chase go first. I went in, and my breath got taken away. She looked .. motionless. Her face was pale and her plump lips were slightly blue. I cringed at the sight of her. My beautiful Abby. Oh gosh. I fell down on my knees and cried. I cried unashamed. I loved this girl. I loved her so much. And it was so sad that this had to happen for me to realize that I did.

"Please Abby. Wake up. Please!" I semi-yelled.

"I need you," I whispered.

I got up and walked toward her bed. Her parents and Chase were on the right side of her, so I went to the left. I held her hand. She felt so cold. Her beautiful green eyes, weren't opened. They were shut, with tiny pieces of snow clinging to her eyelashes. My heart twisted. I needed her. I needed her to smile at me. I took out my phone, and I texted Raven.

To: Raven

I have to talk with you. Meet me tomorrow at the park?

From: Raven

Sure I'll be there.

I didn't text her back. I couldn't. I had to break up with her. I couldn't stay with her knowing I loved Abigail.

"Beau? Beau? Hello? Beau!"

I shook my head slightly my thoughts gone,"W-what?"

She looked annoyed,"You totally blanked out on me dude."

"Dude? Did you seriously just call me dude?" I said arching my eyebrows.

"Maybe."

I laughed,"Come on let's go. It's a perfect day for swimming."

"Swimming? It's like freaking cold Beau! We're gonna get sick."

"Noooo!"

"Yes we are!"

"Please Abby?"

"I have nothing to swim in Beau."

"I have clothes in my car."

"Ugh fine, but if I get sick Ima blame it on you."

"Okay fine."

I went to my car and pulled out an old shirt and basketball shorts. I threw them at her, and she caught them. She went behind a tree to change, so I stripped to my boxers.

"Hey Beau, this fit-"

Her comment stopped and she looked at me. Her eyes roaming over me. I smiled. A blush appeared on her cheeks.

"It fits me big," she muttered.

I laughed,"It'll be fine."

"It's cold," she whined.

"Fine, then just tan! The sun's out anyways."

Her eyes brightened," Thank you!"

I laughed. She got excited so easily. She smiled at me and laid down. I swam for a while before I got tired and I went beside Abigail.

"Abigail?"

She didn't respond. I'm guessing she was asleep. I took the chance to stare at her flawless features. She really was beautiful. I touched her cheek, feeling the softness of it. I leaned in and kissed her lips. I couldn't help it. Her lips were so soft. I pulled back, glad she hadn't woken up. I was going crazy, and it was because of this girl. She wasn't even my girlfriend, and I was in love. I sighed, I only had three more months of high school. Would it be the same? I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and I laid down beside her. I put my arm around her and she cuddled into my side. I smiled, feeling the familiar butterflies I felt whenever I was with her. I saw her phone laying around so I grabbed it and checked the time. It was 1:50. My eyes widened. We had been here an hour. It really didn't seem like it. I guess time really did pass when you were with someone you loved. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
