*A few days later...*

Mrs Yang had asked the hospital for permission to take her son home with her. Now Jeongin was being looked after by a care nurse at the Yang mansion.

Sungmi was sitting next to Jeongin on the bed, her face etched with concern, yet love and support, for her best friend.

"Sungmi, you need to stop worrying so much. Too much stress isn't good for you-"

"Shut up", Sungmi cut him off with an angry tone, "You keep telling me not to stress so much, but you keep giving me reasons to worry about you. Just eat."

Jeongin felt a pang in his chest. He could clearly see that his best friend was upset. Maybe it was the mood swings adding to her sadness, but she was mainly scared for her best friend. She was just worried about losing the only thing that keeps her going, otherwise she wouldn't make it in this world.

Moments later, the nurse entered the room, "Ma'am, it's time for his injection."

"O-Okay..." Sungmi placed the bowl of food on the bedside table.

Mrs Yang sat in her throne-like chair in her home office. Chan sat from across. A maid poured some whiskey into the two glasses on the black marbled table.

"So", Mrs Yang started as she picked up a glass, "You said this matter was urgent?"

"Yes. I needed to talk to you about Jeongin."

Mrs Yang crossed her leg over the other.

"I think someone's after his life."

"How are you so sure?"

"Look at it like this: firstly, at my office building. Someone locked him up in that room. When I requested for the CCTV footage, security told me that it was unavailable, and they denied ever leaving CCTV room. I found it quite odd, but I let it slide for the time being. Secondly, the incident. Turns out somebody sent a hitman after their car in order to deliberately harm the people who were inside, specifically it being Jeongin. Lastly, the poisoning at the hospital. How on Earth do you think poison got into Jeongin's bloodstream if he was unconscious the entire time?"

Mrs Yang placed the glass on her marbled office table. "So, what you're saying is that all these issues are linked to one person? But who could it be?"

"That's what I'm trying to find out." Chan sat back in his chair, "The incident seemed very strange and oddly unparticular. But surprisingly, my sources found someone who was the cause of the whole incident. Infact, we've kept him in our captivity. We're trying to get the truth out of him, but he's not willing to talk."

Mrs Yang's lips perched as she picked up the glass once more. "...Let me have a go. Maybe I can get something out of him.

"Of course, Madam Yang", Chan said as he sipped his whiskey, the bitter flavor of the drink washing down his throat like the remorse for his enemies.

____

Sungmi finally decided to go home after it had taken Jeongin a lot of reassuring and convincing. She needed rest in her state, and Jeongin's situation wasn't helping much with that.

As she sat on the couch, she sipped on her tea, which she had made herself.

It was really calm without her mom around, busy complaining about Jeongin.

Mrs Cho was never really fond of Jeongin, at times it nearly seemed as if she despised him. She always complained about how much trouble she causes for Sungmi and how much she stresses her daughter for no appearant reason at all.
