Chapter 11

Chan's POV

(A/n: Taewoo called in sick today)

I've never been so eager to get home in my entire life. And it's only an hour before I have to leave the office.

Then there was a knock on my door. "Enter", I said as Seungmin appeared through the door, "Status report."

Seungmin placed a red file on my desk, "We've dealt with the Beomgyu situation."

I opened the file and started going through it. "What about 'Code fifteen'?"

"We're going through that. I made it look like an accident. He won't be giving us anymore problems."

"Good", I placed the file aside. "But now I need you to take on a new task. The name is Song Shi-on. I'll need every single piece of information about this man as soon as possible."

"Yes, sir. Already on it."

"You may leave."

Seungmin bowed and left the room.

Kim Seungmin is one of the best, most loyal, persevering and trustworthy right-hand man a business man like me could ask for. On top of that, he has an adorable puppy face, but is really tough underneath the surface.

Now, I was willing to find out everything about Shi-on so I can be ready for whatever he might plan in future. Even though he's in prison, people like him could do possibly anything.

"If he does, he dies. I'll make his life a living hell that he'll beg for death right at my feet..."

Author's POV

Seungmin walked down the corridor, when he bumped into someone again. It was Sungmi.

"Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry, sir. I did it again." She spilled coffee onto his clean shirt again. "I'm really, really sorry, sir."

Seungmin looked at Sungmi, who was very close to being in tears. "It's fine, please stop", Seungmin reassured her.

"No, I ruined your shirt again. I'm very sorry." A tear ran down her rosey cheek.

Seungmin immediately took out a handkerchief and handed it to her, "Here."

Sungmi took a moment to process his actions before accepting the handkerchief, "Thank you."

"Please excuse me", Seungmin walked passed her.

She was left with the guilt of spilling coffee on Mr Kim's shirt... TWICE in one day!

"I'm such an idiot...", she whispered as she continued walking...

*Meanwhile, at the Bahng mansion...*

Jeongin sat on his bed, watching a bl drama while eating strawberry ice cream all alone since Hyunjin and Felix were out.

(A/n: Felix is also a model...😶)

Then came the kiss scene. Jeongin squealed and rolled on the bed. "Finally! Uuugghh! It took them 15 fuckin' episodes, but it finally happened!"

After a few minutes of squealing and laughing, he sat up straight and laid his head on the headboard.

'That kiss...', he thought, 'Why do I keep thinking about it so much?'

His eyes focused on the ceiling as he thought about that kiss from yesterday.

"Why do I keep thinking about it?" He asked, this time saying it out loud.

His heart fluttered at the thought. It felt... strange. He sighed.

"Maybe it's because I haven't kissed anyone in over 3 years. It'll ware off...", he tried to convince himself before he continued with the next episode.

*An hour later...*

Chan came back home from work (at last).

The minute he entered through the door, he headed up to Jeongin's room.

"Knock knock", he said, "I'm home."

"Chan!" Jeongin cheered with a smile.

"Hey, Innie." Chan sat next to him. "What you been up to?"

"Just chilling and catching up on a K-drama. How was work?"

"Taewoo called in sick, but everything else was just as usual." His eyes slipped down to his hand, "I wish you could come back to work. It just doesn't feel the same without you."

"I know, I'm miss-able." Jeongin giggled.

"I have someone who wants to see you..."

And just on que point, Sungmi entered the room. "Baby!"

"Sungmi!" Jeongin elated. "Come here."

Sungmi quickly came in for a hug as she sat next to him. "Oppa, are you okay. I missed you."

"Firstly, don't call me Oppa, you'll make me feel older than I am. Secondly, I'm doing just fine. And thirdly, I missed you more."

Sungmi kissed him on the cheek.

Chan cleared his throat, "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you two are a couple."

"Don't be silly. It's obvious we're besties", Sungmi said.

"Yeah, boy and girl who call each other 'baby' all the time. Real besties, alright." Chan rolled his eyes.

"Hyeong, don't be jealous of our friendship, please. It's just how we show our affection for each other."

Sungmi wrapped her arms around Jeongin who just smiled brightly.

Chan looked at Jeongin's smile, so beautiful and full of life. His crescent shaped eyes, almost as if their closing.

'I fall in love with you every single moment of my existence', he thought. 'I promise to make you mine, and only mine.'

"Now, I'll ask the cook to prepare something delicious for you. What do you wanna eat."

"Can I just get some Kkae Gangjeong? I just ate ice cream a while ago, so I'm not that hungry."

"Sure, and I'll feed it to you. Okie."

Jeongin nodded as Sungmi got up and left the room.

"How long have Sungmi and you been friends?" Chan asked, his tone soft and friendly.

"It's been years. We only met in highschool, but it almost feels like... forever. She's been there for me through my darkest times. That's why I trust her as my best friend. Whatever she does for me, I know it's only for my well-being. She truely cares for me. And I also do my best to make sure that she takes care of herself when I see that it's necessary."

Jeongin smiled the whole time he was explaining.

"It sounds like you two have a really special bond."

"Yeah... We do." Jeongin looked into Chan's eyes.

There was a moment of silence between them. It wasn't awkward though.

Then Sungmi broke the silence, "Dear, Felix and Hyunjin are back. And the Kkae Gangjeong is ready..."

"Oh, I'll be down in a moment."

"Come on", Chan said, while grabbing Jeongin's hand gently and leading him out of the room.

This took Jeongin by surprise. But he didn't feel offended.

They both went downstairs to the dining table...
