Author's POV
The room was dark and dimly lit. It smelled of blood and rotten flesh.
Seungmin stood in front of the seated figure in the middle of the room.
Then a door creacked open as Chan entered the room. The sound of his shoes echoed off of the walls with each step, until he stopped right next to Seungmin.
"This is the man who was spotted in the same vehicle which collided with the car which Jeongin, Felix and Hyunjin were in", Seungmin said.
Chan stood silent, towering over the man who'd been tied up with chains for hours. Chan's gaze pierced into the man's eyes, almost as if staring into his soul, searching for answers.
He took a step closer, his hands in his pockets, and asked, "Who sent you?" His voice was low and husky with an unforgiving tone.
The man stayed silent, the only sound that came from him was his slow breathing.
"I'll ask you again", Chan said, "Who sent you?"
Yet again, no words. Chan slightly turned his head in Seungmin's direction as he asked, "Any information on him?"
"His name is Kang Haechan, aged 30. He's been hired as a hitman for multiple companies and business tycoons previously before. He has no family relationshis, or proper proof of residence and lives alone. Our insights tell us that he was hired by someone to purposefully hit that car in order to harm the people who were inside."
Chan listened intently, his brain soaking up the information he'd just received. His gaze retuned to the man sitting silently in the electric chair. "Are you gonna talk or are we gonna have to settle things differently?"
Seungmin took out a long kitchen knife, ready for some good ol' torture fun.
"I don't have anything to say to you", Haechan finally said in a low voice.
Chan inhaled for a slight moment. His reflexes were fast as he punched Haechan in the face, then leaned in as he clenched his jaw in his grip.
"Do you know what you did?" Chan said, in a very very low and very menacing voice. "You almost killed my family. You nearly killed the love of my life, you mother fucking asshole. Now I'm giving you an option to tell me who the fuck sent you, and I might fucking let you live to see the next day."
Haechan winced silently in pain as Chan's fingers dug into his skin, his grip threatening to break his jaw. Yet he kept quiet, refusing to reveal the mastermind behind the operation.
After a few moments, Chan finally let go of him with a growl as he stood up straight again. Then he turned around and began his exit towards the door as he said, "Kim Seungmin, you know what to do."
"So...", Seungmin said as he began to sharpen the knife. "What's it gonna be? The knifes... or the electric chair?"
___
Sungmi sat next to the hospital bed, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She looked at her best friend, lying unconscious.
Then suddenly, the door opened to reveal Mrs Yang, her make-up-less face dreading with sadness and urgency.
She wanted to fly back to South Korea as soon as she received the news last night, but she couldn't because of a tropical storm and the airways were shut down until the skies cleared.
"Jeongin", she said as she quickly walked towards the bed. "I managed to get here as soon as possible. Sungmi, is he alright. What did the doctor say?"
"Please calm down, Mom. The doctors said he'll be fine. Just a few broken bones and sprained muscles." Sungmi tried to reassure Mrs Yang about her son's health.
