"Wh-what?" Mingyu stuttered as a smile adorned Yeri's face. "I mean it, I missed you so much Gyu oppa." She attempted to hold Mingyu's hand but the boy quickly put his hands together.
The smile on her face started to vanish. "I told you I'm gay Yeri." Mingyu reminded the girl, a stale expression on his face. The girl rolled her eyes slightly before folding her arms.
"You're just confused, that's all, it's literally just a p-"
Before Yeri could finish her sentence, Mingyu walked off not exactly eager to hear his ex girlfriend be so proudly homophobic.
"Oppa!" He heard the girl call after him but he didn't care. Their "relationship", if you could even call it that, ended years ago and Mingyu was totally ready to move on... only with his mystery man of course.
Mingyu reached his dorm and got in after unlocking it with his key. Seokmin didn't even notice Mingyu come in as he sang along to IU's Love Wins All.
Mingyu just shook his head at his extremely loud roommate before going to his room and plopping down on his bed. He ran his hands through his hair before resting on the bed as he gazed at the ceiling.
He started to think of more reasons to give up on his mystery man. What if he wasn't into guys? What if he just didn't like Mingyu and found him annoying? What if it was just all in Mingyu's head.
The various 'what if's flooded Mingyu's mind, drowning out all the hope he once had. Maybe he was just dumb for thinking he'd ever actually find love or ever actually deserve it.
"Gyu! I didn't see you come in!" The door to Mingyu's room opened and in came Seokmin with his mic. "Would you like to watch a movie with me?" He sang his question along with the tune so seamlessly Mingyu almost didn't realize he was being asked a question.
"Sure." He replied as he sat up and finally saw the boy with the mic in his hand. How had they not been kicked out of this dormitory already?
Seokmin brought out his hand and Mingyu held it, letting Seokmin pull him up. "What's with the long face?" Seokmin asked as they both went out of the room.
"I saw Yeri today." Mingyu barely finished his reply before Seokmin turned off his mic and the TV. "What did she say?"
"That she missed me... and that me being gay is just me being confused." Mingyu answered, a bit of irritation detectable in his words.
"Wow, after all these years, she's still like that?" Seokmin asked leaning against the couch. Mingyu blinked, "Has she always been like this?" He asked and Seokmin quickly nodded.
"You were just oblivious to it because you were forcing yourself so hard to like her." Seokmin explained. "She was always weird around Minghao whenever he brought up Jun and she even asked Minghao if he was mentally stable just because he's gay one time, she's a menace Gyu."
Mingyu took in Seokmin's words, a bit rattled by this new information. He couldn't even remember Yeri being a brat because he was so focused on devoting himself to her.
But now he could see how wrong he was. He was so damn wrong.

Wonwoo watched as the three boys got excited over certain decorations before throwing them into the cart the lady at the counter had given them.
The cart was now almost full. Clearly, they still weren't done. "Not to be a douche but... who's paying for that?" He pointed to the cart whose goods were ready to topple over any minute.
The three boys in front of him exchanged looks at one another before Minghao put his hand up. "I'll pay hyungs." He took up the responsibility but was immediately denied by his hyungs.
"I'll pay." Jihoon brought out his wallet and the two boys nodded in understanding while Minghao stood there shocked at how fast he had been rejected.
The boys ended up putting a few more things in the cart before going to the register and paying for the decorations.
With 4 big bags, just enough for each of them to carry one, they also decided to buy Jun's birthday gift at once to save time.
"I have no idea what to get for him." Wonwoo realized as they walked around the next shop. "Just get him any spicy food and he'll love you forever." Minghao informed Wonwoo who tilted his head, now confused.
"But he doesn't handle spicy food well?" Wonwoo looked at Minghao who nodded in agreement before saying, "Yes, but he loves when people think he can, inflated man ego or something." Minghao replied and the boys all started laughing.
Minghao was funny in a special kind of way, he really was a very unique character.
"What are you getting him?' Hoshi asked Jihoon who shrugged as they walked side by side. "Any pretty looking antique, he likes collecting those." Jihoon replied.
"What are you getting him Minghao?" Wonwoo enquired receiving a sly smile from Minghao, "It's a secret." He answered and Wonwoo couldn't help but be curious.
But he decided to keep his curiosity to himself.
"We need to start inviting who we want but we can't let the word spread too far, too many people he doesn't know will make him shy." Minghao told the boys as Jihoon paid for his gift.
"Yeah we'll make sure of that." Hoshi assured the boy who gave him a small smile. "Thank you."
Wonwoo looked at Minghao then at Hoshi and Jihoon and he couldn't help but be somewhat jealous.
He didn't have anyone to hold or to care for so deeply, the loneliness enveloped him in a pool of darkness too hard to swim out of... he was undeniably hopeless which is why he had given up on finding love a long time ago.
