Mingyu and Wonwoo had spent their first week touring Jeju. They'd gone to different villages, markets and shops and done most of the touristy things on their itinerary.
And although them sharing a bed was a bit awkward at first, they'd gotten used to it pretty fast and the barricade had been removed, by Mingyu, of course but not without Wonwoo's permission.
But today was special. Today was Wonwoo's birthday. Even though Wonwoo had never actually talked about his birthday before, Mingyu had found out a long time ago when going through the calendar in Wonwoo's dorm.
He was determined to make today the best birthday ever for Wonwoo since his best friends weren't here to do that for him. So he made a list:
1. Birthday breakfast !
2. Go see a play !
3. Shopping (with my card :) )
4. Birthday dinner
5. Gifts !!!It was 10am when Mingyu finished setting up the kitchen with party decorations and when the chef had finished up Wonwoo's birthday breakfast menu.
Mingyu casually slipped back into bed and waited for Wonwoo to wake up which he did about 5 minutes later.
He put his let into his flip flops and rubbed his eyes before wearing his glasses. Mingyu also pretended to get up and wear his flip flops.
"Good morning." Wonwoo yawned and Mingyu nodded in response. "Good morning."
As he followed Wonwoo out the door, he balled his fists in anticipation, fighting the smile that wanted to overtake his current static expression.
Once Wonwoo finished brushing, he walked towards the kitchen and Mingyu got out his phone to film the beauty's reaction.
As Wonwoo stepped into the kitchen, the party poppers went off and all the staff screamed, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY WONWOO!"
Wonwoo immediately turned to Mingyu who had gotten the reaction he wanted. "Did you do this?!" Wonwoo asked and Mingyu nodded, finally smiling freely. "Of course I did." He replied before being hugged by Wonwoo.
Mingyu instantly stopped videoing and put his phone in his pocket before hugging Wonwoo back. It was the first time Wonwoo was hugging Mingyu first and Mingyu cherished the moment, hoping it would go on forever.
But it couldn't because they had to eat their breakfast. "This is so sweet, thank you Mingyu, and thank all of you!" Wonwoo bowed to the staff who bowed back before exiting the beach house.
"Did you like the surprise?" Mingyu asked, eager for validation from the birthday boy. "I really did... no one's ever done this for me before."
"Really?" Mingyu queried, surprised. "Since my parents passed away, I stopped celebrating my birthday and I asked everyone I knew to stop too." Wonwoo explained.
"...And they listened?" Wonwoo nodded and Mingyu's head drooped to the side. He was confused at how people who claimed to love Wonwoo would not celebrate him just because he said he didn't want a celebration.
"They always listen to me, sometimes I wish they wouldn't though." Wonwoo took a bite of the abalone porridge that had been prepared for him. "Wow! This is really good!" Wonwoo eyebrows lifted so high, they almost touched his hairline.
Mingyu smiled. He was happy that Wonwoo enjoyed the surprise. That was one thing ticked off the list.
"I was talking with Mr Kim last night, and he said that there's actually a theatre not too far from here." Mingyu casually brought up, knowing it would interest Wonwoo. "A theatre? Really?!" Wonwoo questioned, already amped up.
"Mhmm and I got us tickets for Hamlet." Mingyu showed Wonwoo the tickets he'd gotten online and Wonwoo let out a tiny shriek. "How did you know I love Hamlet?" Wonwoo looked at the tickets.
"Snooping around your room certainly helped." Mingyu admitted and Wonwoo chuckled, his brain not fully registering the statement due to his excitement.
"When is it starting?" Wonwoo asked and Mingyu checked the info online. "By 4pm, which is why, we're going shopping first!"
In all honesty, Mingyu hadn't checked the time the play was supposed to start but it was fine since they could just waste time by shopping.

Wonwoo was so happy. The happiest he'd been in actual years, thanks to Mingyu.
He hadn't gone on a trip ever and Mingyu did that for him, he hadn't stayed at a beach house before and Mingyu did that for him and he hadn't celebrated his birthday in years and here Mingyu was, once again doing something for him. Something no one else ever bothered to do.
Maybe that was why his heartbeat rapidly increased whenever he was near Mingyu. Because he was so... grateful.
Okay, that made no sense. But it was what he was going with.
He'd never had anyone give him so much attention before, he didn't know how to handle it.
"We're going shopping?" Wonwoo asked. "Mhmm, you can buy anything you want, with this." Mingyu took out his card.
"Oh, I can't accept that, I'm already so indebted to you." Wonwoo shook his hands before pushing the card away. "You're not indebted to me in any way, you deserve all this and I'm sorry that no one else has ever cared to do this for you." Mingyu put the card in Wonwoo's hand.
"Now get ready so we can go." Mingyu pulled Wonwoo up and pushed him towards the bathroom. "Thank you, puppy." Wonwoo ruffled Mingyu's hair as he reached the bathroom and he noticed Mingyu's cheeks brighten up.
"You're blushing." Wonwoo said, nonchalantly even though he was happy he had finally made the boy blush. "Am I?" Mingyu asked, poking his head into the bathroom and looking at the mirror.
"Yeah, you are... and it's cute." Wonwoo murmured but Mingyu still caught it, turning to Wonwoo. "It's what?" He smiled and Wonwoo rolled his eyes before pushing the boy out of the bathroom.
"Did you just call me cute?!" Mingyu yelled as Wonwoo shut the door. "Jeon Wonwoo just called me cute!" Wonwoo heard Mingyu's voice get farther and farther as if he was running around the house which he probably was.
Only if he knew how many times Wonwoo had called him cute in his head.
