"Lights out and away we go!" yells the commentator through the TV as the race began in Austria. Apparently yesterday there was a sprint race which doesn't happen every weekend, or something which she tried to explain but I didn't really grasp at all.
Anyway, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz were the starting three drivers which I did understand why. Lina said she was a Redbull fan, so I decided to be the opposite just to spite her and decided from now on I was a Mercedes fan.
"I'm getting you into the sport and you won't even support my team, that's insane." she says, very annoyed.
"I'm sorry, it's just law that I need to be opposite of you." I tell her
"You aren't funny Isa." she replies.
"Yea, well I think I am." I say.
"Well you thought wrong, now shut up so I can listen" she says, trying to listen to what the commentators and drivers are saying.
I did what she said, being quiet as I focused on the suprisingly interesting race.
The cars passed one another, getting scarily close, and pushing each other off track as they tried to get into that first place position.
Unfortunately for me, neither George nor Lewis got on podium, but thankfully according to Lina they landed points which is still good.
Once the race was over and the post race interviews were completely done, Lina decided to go home saying that she needed a shower and had finally completed her goal of getting me into F1 since I had told her the race was suprisingly more interesting than I had expected.
"Just because I enjoyed today doesn't mean I'll join you every weekend."I tell her, walking her to the door.
"Well see about that." she replies, making her way out.
"Love you." I say.
"Love you more."
