It's been a while since Lando and I last spoke—or at least, since I last spoke to him.

He has definitely tried various ways of reaching out to me, but it's been complete radio silence on my end.

He even went as far as texting the group chat to spark a conversation he knew would catch my interest, but I hadn't been responsive at all.

Most of the guys were angry at him for a while, but as I had expected, they eventually got over it and went back to being besties with him—well, most of them, at least.

Both Maxes were pretty upset, Verstappen more so than Fewtrell, since Lando had made an effort to personally apologize to Fewtrell. Given they're best friends, Max inevitably forgave him.

However, Danny was still beyond angry. Not only had Lando hurt me, but he had also embarrassed both Danny and me in front of all our friends by acting jealous. So it's safe to say Danny was the one I was in closest contact with at the moment, aside from Lina.

Currently, Migue and I were sitting idly in the hospital, waiting for his sister to get out of surgery. I could tell he was nervous—he gripped my hand tightly, staring blankly into space.

We had both requested the week off from Christian, who quickly agreed, saying he understood how important this was. He was especially fine with it since we had already done so much work and were nearly finished with the entire layout.

"What if she doesn't make it?" Migue asked, finally breaking the silence after hours of quiet.

His parents were seated across the room, wrapped in each other's arms, worry etched across their faces.

"I don't know, Migue. I really hope we don't find out," I replied, a silent tear slipping down my cheek.

As the hours dragged on, we remained quiet and still, each silently praying that she would make it through.

The surgery was incredibly risky—it was a true life-or-death situation. If she survived, there was a high chance she would recover. If she didn't, then that would be it.

Eventually, a petite nurse called out Migue's last name. "Espinosa's?" she asked.

Migue immediately stood and pulled me with him as he approached her. "Yes?" he asked, hopeful.

"Are you related to Ms. Lucy?" she inquired.

"Yes, I'm her brother. These are our parents," he answered, gesturing to his parents, who were slowly making their way over.

"I'm sorry to break it to you, but—" she began.

Migue instantly broke into sobs, knowing exactly what those words meant.
