My friends and I hung out for a few more hours, playing FIFA and Just Dance and finishing a bottle and a half of wine.

However, it was now around 8 pm, and both Connie and Lina needed to go somewhere so I made my way home, currently walking through my front door, slightly tipsy. (I took a cab)

I made my way to my room, checking my phone to see if I had any notifications worth checking.

sexist man- we're not going out to celebrate tonight, call when you can?

I reread the message multiple times, debating whether it would be a good idea to call Lando, deciding that I would not only call him, but facetime him as well.

CALLING SEXIST MAN

RING...

RING...

RING...

"Hello?" his voice speaks through the phone.

"Hi Lan, how are you?" I respond, putting the phone on my vanity so he could see me while I took off my makeup.

"That's an atrocious outfit, makes you look really ugly." he says, speaking of my Mercedes merchandise.

"Really I thought it was quite dashing." I reply, standing up to show him my entire outfit that consisted of a Mercedes cap and shirt that was tucked into my bra on one side, and some black low-rise jeans.

"I mean you look beautiful as always, at least as whatever I've seen, but I really think we can do better with the outfit, or you know, no outfit at all is best." he jokes.

"Lando Norris, are you flirting with me?" I sarcastically accuse, already knowing the answer.

"Would that be so bad?"

"At least take me to dinner first Lando." I say, sitting down again as I grab a cotton pad and micellar water and taking off my makeup.

"Can I? Take you out?" he asks, sounding incredibly nervous.

"Lando..." I say lowly, not wanting to say no but not wanting to hurt him. "I would love to, but not right now, I need some time I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry I understand." He assures me.

"Look, I don't have the best past with trusting people, so let us get to know each other better and maybe we'll go out soon." I tell him.

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Yea, okay."

I smile at him through the phone, grabbing the phone as I go to my closet to pick out my pj's and head to the bathroom.

We talked the entire night and joked around about everything, properly getting to know one another.

"How about this, I won't push you about going on a date until the season ends. It's July right now, and the last race is Abu Dhabi from the 24 to the 26 of November, if I see you there that night in my garage, I'll know that you want to do this. But I need you to promise me you won't just cut things off because you're scared of worried."

"How do you have so much trust that you'll still want me then."

"During these last few weeks, we've gotten to know you, me a little bit more than the others, I've never been excited to receive a notification and run to check who it is until you joined the group.
You get along with all my mates and you make me laugh so easily, plus I think you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. And lastly, you found out I was famous, and I have money, and you still rejected me to keep me safe which shows you care and you're not using me. So, Isabelle, I know I will still like you then because I have never met someone with a better heart than yours."

"You barely know me Lan, this is our first call."

"And yet I still know that I'm willing to wait nearly half a year only for you to go on one date with me."

"I'll promise to not run away if you promise to be patient with me Lan, because I can be difficult when I get scared, insecure, or anxious."

"I promise Belle." he states, sounding confident in his answer.

"Then I promise too." I smile, getting into bed with my phone in hand. "Are we gonna be able to see each other in person until then?"

"That's up to you Belle, this can go however you want." he answers, smiling as he stares through the phone.

"Gosh Lan, where have you been all my life?" I ask, in awe of his commitment to us.

"I don't know Belle, where have you been?" he throws back. "No like seriously I want to learn about your childhood." he says.

"Well, I was born in Italy, and I lived there until I was five and moved to Argentina." I explain.

"Why Argentina?" he asks.

"Moms from Argentina, so we moved there until I was fifteen because she wanted to be closer with her family, and then we moved here to London because my dad got a job offer, we couldn't refuse since we weren't doing very well with money." I explain. "But then when I moved out and started university they moved back to Italy and opened a Cafe there and they're doing well."

"That's very interesting. What country did you like most." He asks.

"Aesthetic wise I think Italy is the most gorgeous of the three, but I really like London, and I met some of my forever friends in Argentina and now my cousins are like my siblings so I'm glad I've gotten to go everywhere I have." I explain.

"Do you have any siblings?" he asks.

"I've got two older brothers who mean the absolute world to me." I tell him, "How about you?"

"I've got an older brother and two younger sisters who I would do anything for." he tells me.

"That's sweet, my brothers ran off every single guy I brought home. I had to sneak boys in through my window during the day with the help of my mom so I could work on school projects." I reminisce.

"And yet they let one go, the one that hurt you?" he questions.

"Yea, it's not their fault it was their best friend." I tell him.

"Ahh, makes sense."

"Yea, but he got it the worst of all. When they found out what he did, they beat him up so badly that he was in the hospital for two weeks." I recall, remembering the time I visited him to tell him I never wanted to see him again and how dead he was to me.

"I'm glad." he says, "I'm tired but I don't want to hang up, stay on call?"

"Of course, Lan, good night."

"Good night, Belle."

I smile, put my phone on my nightstand, and close my eyes as I let myself dose off and dream.
