It's been about a week since Mira arrived, and after a long and eventful week, I was at the airport after having dropped her off, waiting for Lando's flight to arrive.
I was waiting outside of his gate, my hands shaking with nerves as I waited to finally see him, even if it's sappy, I missed him more than words can describe.
I watch as he strolls out of the international flight's gate with his luggage dragging behind. Once he spots me in the crowd, his steps quicken as I get closer and hold my arms wide open.
"Hello!" I say, pulling him into a tight hug. His arms wrap around my waist as he holds me tight, breathing me in basically.
"I missed you." he mumbled, his head buried into the crook of my neck.
I say it back as I rub his back a little before pulling away, grabbing his hand as I pull him to my car.
"So, are you excited it's finally summer break?" I ask, pulling out of the parking spot.
"Yea, been waiting for it. I finally get to relax for some time and luckily, I get to do it with the person I love to be around the most." he replies, smiling over at me.
"Gosh, you're so corny. Anyway, am I taking you to yours or are you staying at mine?"
"I was wondering if we could stay at mine. I need to pick up my clothes for the trip and it lets us stay together even longer." he answers, connecting his phone to the aux.
"Alright, I just have to stop at mine to get everything ready then." I say, driving over to my place.
The ride was pretty silent as soft music played in the background. Lando had quickly fallen asleep, which was more than expected, so I lowered the volume, making sure nothing would wake him up.
Once we arrived, I woke him up to let him know we arrived, and we made our way inside the building and up to my apartment.
When we got inside, I led him over to my bed where I let him sleep while I packed. It was going to take a while since I had to pack for the next two days at his house, while also packing everything for Italy.
I took around an hour, since I had to make sure I grabbed absolutely everything I needed, and once I was sure I had everything, I woke Lando up as I dragged us back to the car.
"Can I drive?" he asks, as we walk over.
"Are you sure? You can sleep it's like two hours." I say.
"Yea, I want to." He reassures me as he opens the trunk for me so I can put my luggage.
We get into our respective seats, and this time I get to control the aux as Lando begins the drive over to Bristol.
---
After the semi-long drive, we finally arrived at Lando's, so we got our luggage out of the car and made our way inside his house and quickly got settled in.
"So, what's the plan until we leave?" I ask as I sit down beside him on the couch.
"Just chill. I need to recover as this double-header so I can have enough energy to survive." he answers, grabbing my legs as he places them on top of his lap.
"Okay." I say, leaning my head on his shoulder as I skim over the movies until we both mutually decide on one to watch.
As the movie progressed, Lando eventually fell asleep again, and it was getting kind of late, so I decided to make the three of us, including Max who was shockingly coming back soon, some dinner.
I knew that when Lando was on break he had a little less restrictions on the food he ate, so I decided to prepare us some hamburgers.
I quickly made my way to the store to pick up a few items before I got back and quickly began preparing the hamburgers.
I was placing the patty's I prepared on a tray, and as I place them in the oven so they can start cooking, I began working on toasting the bread when I hear the front door open, and eventually Max walks through, placing his things down on the table before walking over to greet me.
"Hey Isa." he says giving me a short hug.
"Hey Maxie, what's up"? I reply, trying to keep my hands off his clothes so I dont get them dirty
"All good. Finally back home after nearly two weeks in London though."
"Yeah, I know, I've spent it with you." I say laughing.
"Whatever. How's Lando?" he asks.
"Exhausted. He's passed out on the couch, but he hasn't eaten all day, so I decided to prepare us some burgers." I tell him.
"Okay, well I'm gonna put my stuff away and I'll be back to help you finish up." he says, walking over to the stairs.
Once he leaves, I start cutting up some lettuce and tomatoes, and when it's finally time to cut up the onion, I grab some swim goggles and place them over my eyes to prevent any crying from occurring.
"What the hell are you wearing?" asks Lando in a groggy voice as he walks over to me.
"I'm cutting onion, and I don't want to cry." I explain as I continue with my task.
"HAHAHAHHA!" I hear from the stairs as I see Max clutching his stomach as he doubles over in laughter, causing Lando to join him.
"Stop laughing at me I'm trying to protect myself." I grumbled, finishing up cutting the vegetable.
Once they finally stop laughing at me, they begin setting the table as I finish preparing the meal. I make our plates and bring them over so we can eat our dinner as we all catch up and gossip about what we've missed these last two weeks.
