The rest of the week was fairly boring. I did some more work with the help or Migue, I got my yerba, so I've been drinking a lot of mate, and I've hung out a lot with Max and Lina.
Today was Saturday, which meant it was time for qualifying in ten minutes. Lina, Max, and Connie were at my apartment explaining to me different things I needed to know. I had sent Lando a quick good luck message, hoping he'd get to see it before he had to get in the car.
Despite knowing what everyone had said, about me not having much time to talk to Lando, I had ignored them and didn't expect this week to be so hard. But we had hardly talked since Tuesday, sharing maybe ten texts max each day.
I wasn't really expecting him to see my message, but he did, replying with an orange heart, bringing a wide smile to my face.
I grabbed the pizzas I finished cooking out of the oven, cutting them into equal slices before taking them over to the living room where I was going to share with my guests.
"Lando's getting in the car Isa." says Connie, pointing him out as if he wasn't the only one on screen.
"Yea, I see. Thanks Con." I say, laughing as I sit down next to him on the couch.
"Has he been hard to contact this week?" asks Max, sitting forward on the couch to look at me.
"A little, but it's fine, I was expecting it." I shrug, trying to act unbothered.
"I know it's bothering you, give it a few races, you get more used to it." he replies, comforting me.
I sent him a small smile, all of us turning our attention to the television as the first qualifying laps are starting.
As each driver made their way out onto the track, Max explained to me the different types of laps they were doing, each depending on whether they already qualified or not.
"Lando's on an out-lap right now since he just got onto the track, which is why he's going slow in comparison to Max who went out before him." he says.
I nod, trying to understand as I just watch the cars go around the track, each trying to go faster than the other to prevent getting eliminated from Q1.
By the end of tenish minutes, Logan, Kmag, George, Yuki and Alex were out, finishing in Q1. The screen goes to George very grumpily pulling into the garage.
I send him a quick message, trying to at least help raise his poor mood as I turn my focus back to the TV as Q2 begins.
At the end of Q2, Pierre, Lance, Danny Ric, Esteban, and Carlos are out. Connie was very upset when Carlos got out, cursing as he claimed that it was a mistake.
Then Q1 began, and by the end of it, Lando had ended in a lovely third place. I sent him a quick congratulations message, letting him know I was proud of him.
Once qualifying was over, the four of us watched the post-qualifying interviews as Max and I sent the boys a congratulations in the group chat.
"They're probably not going to respond today." says Max as he turns off his phone.
"I'm not expecting them too, but it's always nice to know you have people you care about supporting you." I shrug.
"Has Lando replied though yet? His interviews are done." he asks.
"No, haven't received anything." I reply, checking my notifications in case I missed something.
He nods, turning his head to once again face the television as Lewis, the pole sitter, was getting interviewed.
With the help of Lina, we picked everything up, cleaning up the kitchen and the living room as everyone would be heading out soon since it was already sort of late here in London.
"Has it been hard this week?" asks Lina, standing beside me as I finish washing the dishes.
"I mean, it's very different then what I was used to, so yea it's been kind of hard." I explain.
"I think it's good you're experiencing it before you become official." she says. "It gives you a chance to see what your future might look like."
"Yea I know, and I know everyone said he would be hard to contact but I didn't think it would be this extreme. I just can't wait for Monday when he has two free days and can properly chat even if it's only through facetime." I tell her, drying my hands as I finish off the last plate.
"That's cute." she laughs, following me out of the kitchen and to the living room.
We sit down for a while with the two boys, talking as we make plans to watch the race together at Lina's apartment. Once we have everything decided, they begin heading out, leaving me alone as I take the time alone to finally destress after many work filled days and constant stressing over Lando.
I finished cleaning up everything that was left and grabbed my phone as I headed to the room.
I reply to George, who had thanked me for the message, as well as most of the others who had responded to Max and I through the group chat.
The only person yet to respond was Lando, so as I awaited the message, I grabbed a book I had been putting off reading, snuggling into bed.
After maybe two hours of reading, it was 9 pm, and I decided to start getting ready for bed. After an hour I had given up on waiting for Lando's text, and even if I knew he was busy, I was still slightly upset since the other boys were able to text me back.
I tried to hide the annoyed feeling, especially after having seen he posted on insta as well, getting ready for bed, deciding to head in for an early night since there wasn't much of a reason to stay up.
I did what I do most nights, showering, brushing my teeth and hair, and skincare, as I finally got into my pjs and got myself under the covers.
I decided to check my messages one more time.
