2 weeks later.
For Kali these past 2 weeks haven't been so bad.
Her and Ken were good.
She managed to keep Flow away from Valerie.
She had Von still talked everyday, and his court appearance was today. She had prayed for him like he'd asked so she had high hopes, all he did was fight.
She would've went to the hearing but she had a client that morning at 9am. Which is where she was on her way to right now.
Von stood in front of the Judge who would be looking at his case today. He stood in a green jumpsuit with his hands cuffed in front of him. They handcuffed his feet too, which he felt was extremely unnecessary, it wasn't like he was going to jump on the judge.
His lawyer gave him and pat on the back and Von nodded his head in her direction. He already knew how this was going to go. They searched his car without a warrant so whatever they found would be thrown out. As for the fight, he'd already served his time for it plus no one was pressing charges, so he was positive he'd be going home today and those charges would be dropped too.
The Judge called order in the court and she scanned over his file.
After about 15 minutes of the judge going over the case, and his lawyer pleading with the judging to do what was fair. She was ready to proceed with the cases.
The judge peered over her reading glasses, her expression stern but not unkind. "Mr. Bennett, you've been found guilty of reckless endangerment and assault. The prosecution is seeking the maximum sentence."
Von stood before her, his eyes cast downward, his lawyer's hand on his shoulder.
"However, considering your prior convictions and the circumstances surrounding the incident, I'm willing to consider an alternative sentence," The Judge continued.
Von's lawyer, Ms. Jenkins, spoke up. "Your Honor, my client is willing to accept responsibility for his actions and seek help.
Seek help? Like I'ma fucking crazy person? Von could feel his face turning red as he clenched his jaw to calm himself. A nigga started with me and I'm the one that need to seek help?
The Judge nodded. "Very well. Instead of incarceration, I hereby sentence you, Von Bennett, to 6 months' probation and mandatory therapy sessions, twice a week, for the duration of your probation."
Von's eyes snapped up, a mix of relief and trepidation crossing his face.
Von nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you, Your Honor."
The Judge's expression softened. "Mr.Bennett, this is an opportunity for you to address your issues and make positive changes. Don't waste it. Under the circumstances, I'll give you a second chance, but if I see you in my court room again, I'm throwing the 3 strike law at you."

Von walked out the Jail with his backpack in hand, relieved to be met with fresh air. He hadn't felt it in 2 weeks. He looked ahead of him and there stood Kali, standing outside of her Red Nissan Altima. He could see her smile from where he was, making a small smile appear on his face.
She ran to him with open arms and jumped on him, taking in his warm embrace. "I missed you sooooo much."
Von laughed at her craziness and hugged her small frame tightly. She had a dark- blue lace front on that went well with her dark brown skin. She wore a black body suit that stopped at her upper thigh, highlighting her curves.
"I missed you more." He said kissing her temple. "Man I got so much shit to tell you." He said opening the car door. "A nigga week been so long." He got in the car.
