Titus POV

The ride back to the motel was oddly distracting. Adeline's fidgeting on the bike, her fingers brushing against my chest as she adjusted her grip, was affecting my concentration. Each time she moved, I felt her warmth pressing against me, and it was proving increasingly difficult to keep my focus on the road.

I kept my speed steady and tried to ignore the growing distraction. My wolf, Blaze, was on edge, reacting to the closeness between us in ways I wasn't used to. It was as if every small touch was amplified, making my senses sharper and my resolve weaker.

When we finally arrived at the motel, I parked the bike and turned off the engine, grateful for the chance to regain some control over my thoughts. I swung my leg over and dismounted before moving to Adeline's side.

She looked up at me with a mixture of apprehension and curiosity as I helped her off the bike. Her movements were slow, deliberate, and I could sense her nervousness. I gently removed her helmet, my fingers lingering on her chin for a moment longer than necessary.

"Let's talk a bit more," I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite the tumultuous emotions swirling inside me. "Inside your room, if that's okay."

Adeline's eyes widened slightly, and I could see the hesitation in her gaze. "Are you sure? I don't want to impose."

"It's not an imposition," I assured her. "I think it's important that we continue this conversation. I'd like to understand more about your situation and make sure you're comfortable here."

She seemed to consider this for a moment before nodding. "Alright, if you don't mind."

I followed her to the motel room, the quiet of the evening adding to the sense of intimacy between us. Adeline unlocked the door and opened it, gesturing for me to enter first. I stepped inside, the small space immediately feeling more personal and revealing.

She moved to the small desk, setting the helmet down with a sigh. I took a seat in one of the chairs by the window, watching her as she tried to steady her nerves.

"You can sit if you like," she offered, her voice soft but tinged with uncertainty.

I nodded and took a seat opposite her. "Thanks. I wanted to make sure you felt comfortable here, and if there's anything else you need to discuss or ask, now's a good time."

Adeline nodded, her gaze dropping to her hands as she fidgeted with her jacket. "I didn't expect you to be so... understanding."

"I'm glad you think so," I replied. "I know it can be difficult to open up about personal things, especially with someone you've only just met. I want to ensure you know that you're safe and welcome here."

She looked up at me, her eyes searching mine for sincerity. "I just want to make sure I'm not causing any trouble. I've had to keep my guard up for so long, it's hard to let it down."

"I understand," I said softly. "And I appreciate your honesty. It's important for us to build trust, and I want to make sure you feel secure here."

We talked for a while longer, discussing her needs and any concerns she had. I made sure to listen carefully, responding thoughtfully. It was clear that Adeline had been through a lot, and while she was still guarded, I could see that she was beginning to relax, even if just a little.

As the conversation wound down, I could sense the relief in her demeanor. The tension that had been hanging in the air seemed to lift, and I felt a renewed sense of purpose. I wanted to ensure she felt safe and understood, and I hoped that this small step towards opening up would help build the foundation of trust between us.

When it was time to leave, I stood and walked to the door. "I'll let you get some rest. If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out. I'll be around."

Adeline gave me a small, grateful smile. "Thank you, Titus. I appreciate everything."

As I stepped out into the cool night air, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The conversation had been important, and though I knew there was still much to learn about Adeline, I felt that we were making progress. I was determined to help her find some sense of stability and safety, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
