Titus's POV

The drive back to the motel was heavy with unspoken tension. Adeline sat beside me, her face a mix of anxiety and resignation. I could feel my anger simmering beneath the surface, fueled by the revelation that my uncle, Aspen, had been involved in the fire that devastated Adeline's coven. It was a cruel twist of fate, one that threatened to unravel everything I had worked for.

As I pulled into the motel parking lot, the weight of the evening's revelations pressed heavily on me. I had to confront this situation, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I turned off the engine and looked over at Adeline, my frustration barely contained.

"Adeline," I began, my voice harsh but controlled, "I need to know why you're so determined to leave. What else is going on?"

She looked down, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her seat. "It's Aspen. I recognized him immediately. He was part of the group that caused the fire. I didn't expect to see him here, and it's just too much to handle."

My fists clenched on the steering wheel, my heart pounding with anger. "Aspen was involved in that fire? How could he do something so monstrous? I will make him pay for what he has done to you."

Adeline's eyes met mine, filled with a mix of fear and resignation. "I'm afraid to be near him. I've already checked out of the motel. I can't stay there knowing he's so close. I need to leave."

The realization hit me hard. Adeline was at risk, and I couldn't let her stay in a place where she felt unsafe. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my raging emotions.

"Adeline, you're right you can't stay here. It's not safe. I want you to come stay at the pack house with me. I'll make sure Aspen stays far away from you and that you're protected."

Her eyes widened in surprise and relief. "I don't want to impose."

"It's not about imposing," I said firmly. "Blaze is furious about Aspen threatening you. He won't settle until you're safe and close by. I can't risk losing you because of my uncle's actions."

Adeline looked at me, her expression softening as she considered the offer. "Okay," she said quietly. "Thank you, Titus. I just... I don't know what I would do without you."

I nodded, the tension in my shoulders easing slightly. "Let's head to the pack house. We'll sort this out and make sure you're secure."

I couldn't shake the anger I felt toward Aspen. The past had a way of coming back to haunt us, and I was determined to protect Adeline from the shadows of my family's actions. When we arrived at the pack house, I made sure she felt comfortable and safe, ready to confront the demons of our past and build a future free from the darkness that had threatened to tear us apart.
