Sam couldn't think, there was a ringing in his ears that he couldn't shake off. His home, this shop had become his home and Erendr- and Nehemia- his family. To loose this place, to loose the feeling he got every day when he got in, he didn't know how he would handle it. He wasn't sure if he should stay here, he hadn't learned enough of Ryhsaric, the language of the locals too work or ask for work anywhere else.

When he got back to the shop he found Nehemia waiting for him inside. After tentative hellos, Sam asked what he was fearing

"How did it go with the master? Is there any chance I-we could buy this place?"

Nehemia didn't answer and just shook her head. Sam allowed a sigh to leave his body and just went over to her and hugged her. They hugged until Sam managed to control his sobs. When they pulled away from each other he asked her to come with him.

They went for a walk around the city, at this time of day every street was bustling with people. After getting to a fountain with only a few people around, Sam spoke

"My first months here I usually went everyday to the docks, to see if there were any news about what was going on in the continent. I had stopped doing that in the days we started talking, but today I went back there. I heard something I wanted to tell you, I think you will find it interesting."

At this, Nehemia's face went pale. "What is it?" She asked.

With that, Sam spilled the news, he spilled every detail he had heard. About the King of Adarlan being killed by Aelin, the Queen of Terrassen, about how she and the prince managed to defeat an army of creatures, lead by Erawan. While he was talking he could see all the changes to Nehemia's face, from surprise to happiness, to worry, to happiness once again.

Sam didn't know what he expected Nehemia to say or do, but confessing that she knew about Erawan, the dark lord and his Valg army, wasn't it.She explained everything she knew and the reasons why she hadn't said anything about it, which were mostly fear of being judged and helplessness. At the end of the conversation they just sat in the bench. Sam kept thinking about all of it, how she had kept that huge secret from her. He didn't judge her for it, he just couldn't stop thinking about how she hadn't gone crazy. If Sam knew the world could probably end soon, he wouldn't be calm about it, hell he probably wouldn't sleep anymore, and he would look for someone to talk to.

"I admire you more than you can imagine, Nehemia. You managed to not only sacrifice yourself for the sake of the world, but also kept all that inside of you and didn't let it break you, didn't let it stop you from smiling and form being happy." Before she could answer, he got close to her and kissed her. Her lips as soft as ever, and her smile against his lips made him happy. After they pulled away Sam just looked her in the eyes and said "I love you Nehemia, I loved you when your name was Gwenyth, I have loved you since we sat on the roof that first night."
