Sam
The next morning Sam woke up before Nehemia. He watched her sleeping soundly while thinking that he was so lucky to have a woman like Nehemia, to wake to her in his arms every morning. Since he was so lucky, he decided, he got off bed, got dressed and went out to look for a healer. He and Nehemia hadn't talked about it, but he didn't think she would want children without being already home, and if he was honest to himself, he didn't want children yet either. When he got to the healer's rooms there was only a young man instead of the usual healer, the young man wasn't as pleasant as the healer, but Sam still asked for the contraception tonic and the young man gave it to him.
On his way back to their quarter, Sam kept going after everything that had happened last night. He had tried to be careful, but it was his first time too, so he wasn't sure how well he had done it, and he didn't know if maybe he should have brought her a tonic for the pain too. When he got to the room, Nehemia was waking already with a big smile on her face when she saw Sam.
"Hi, I brought you this. I know we haven't talked about children or anything and I understand- I mean- we haven't been together all that long, and maybe you don't want children or maybe you do which would be okay, but I just, I thought, I think I brought you a contraceptive tonic." Sam had always been pretty outgoing and unflattable, but right now? He was nervous, he didn't want Nehemia to think something out of it, he didn't want her to feel forced to take it.
Nehemia got to her knees on the bed and got face to face with Sam. She put her hands on his shoulders and gave him a chaste kiss. Then she just said to him "Sam, stop worrying, thank you for getting me this."
"Do you feel okay? It wasn't too much last night, was it?" Sam was still worried, he remembered his mother once when a man was apparently too hard on her. She had bled a lot and he recalled she hadn't worked that week. But even though Nehemia seemed fine, he still felt the need to ask.
"Sam, I'm okay. You weren't too hard, you were perfect, actually." He could see the start of a blush on her cheeks as she said it.
Sam let out a sigh of relief and kissed her. When they pulled apart, Nehemia told Sam she would go change and then they could go take their morning walk.
