Chapter Thirty Six- I'm Out

Tony had planted a bug on Grayson before he left the headquarters, eager to hear what the informant would say once he reached the warehouse with the government officials. As they listened in, the team could hear Grayson's voice crack with emotion.

"Please, God, forgive me," Grayson sobbed, the weight of his choices bearing down on him.

Tony couldn't help but chuckle, shaking his head in disbelief. "This guy is really selling it," he murmured to the others, a smirk on his face.

The transmission continued, and Grayson's voice became clearer. "I'm out. I'm not working with you anymore," he insisted, his tone shaky but firm. "I fear Dr. Wynter more than I fear you. You can't bribe me. I'm done being a criminal."

The team exchanged glances, impressed by Grayson's sudden resolve. "That woman is the scariest person I've ever met," he added, a shiver evident in his voice.

"Looks like we've made quite an impression," Catherine said, her lips curling into a satisfied smile.

Lucas nodded, trying to contain his laughter. "He really knows who to fear now."

As they listened, the tension in the room shifted from anxiety to triumph. Grayson's apparent change of heart confirmed that their methods were effective, and it only fueled their determination to move forward with their plans. Tony grinned, proud of the bug he'd planted. "Let's see what else he has to say," he said, leaning closer to the monitor.

As they listened closely, the conversation shifted to Grayson and the government official.

"Grayson, please," the official pleaded, his voice dripping with desperation. "We need your information. You can't just walk away from this. You have connections, insights that could help us—"

"I don't care!" Grayson interrupted, his voice trembling. "I'm done with all of it. I'm not risking my life for you anymore. Dr. Wynter is a force to be reckoned with, and I want nothing to do with her or your operations."

"Think about what you're saying," the official urged, his tone growing frantic. "We can protect you! You have to understand, the stakes are too high. We'll make you a deal—"

"Enough!" Grayson snapped, fear etched across his face. "I'd rather take my chances on my own than be caught in this mess. You can't bribe me into it; I've seen what she's capable of!"

The team listened intently, exchanging knowing glances. Tony chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Looks like Grayson isn't as easy to manipulate as they thought."

Catherine leaned in, a triumphant smile spreading across her face. "He's learned quickly who to fear, and it's not them."

"Good for him," Lucas added, his voice laced with admiration. "At least he's got some sense now."

As the conversation continued, it became clear that Grayson's newfound determination to cut ties was a direct result of their earlier encounter, reinforcing the power of their strategy and the impact Catherine had made.

Grayson's voice was shaky but resolute as he spoke to the government official. "I'm done with all of this. I'm going to church. I'd rather take my chances with the devil than deal with Dr. Wynter again."

The official's frustration was palpable. "You can't be serious! This isn't a game, Grayson. You're throwing away your life!"

"I'd rather throw it away than end up on her bad side," Grayson shot back, his eyes wide with fear. "You don't understand what she's capable of. I've seen it, and I want no part of it."
