Y/n was confused all day as to why Minji kept waving at them whenever they saw each other around the school.

"What's her deal?" Y/n kept asking themselves.

Towards the end of the day, things got a little more confusing when Minji stopped and stared at Y/n for a long time.

I was so confused.

"Do you need something?" I looked around a bit confused.

Everyone was leaving the school campus to their tutoring schools or after-school activities, but Minji was just staring at me.

"No," Minji suddenly chuckled.

I raised an eyebrow a bit perplexed.

"I just think you look cute when you're confused," She giggled.

I looked at her as if she was crazy before just turning around to walk away.

"She must be having one of those days," I tried to rationalize with myself.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming after me. "Oh C'mon, I just like messing with you. We're friends!" Minji playfully bumped into me.

"Since when?" I smirked at her.

I didn't really know what Minji and I were. To me, we were just two strangers who cared about each other and just so happened to live together.

"Since the first time you held an umbrella over my head while I waited for the school gate to open," she suddenly wrapped her arm around mine.

I looked at her a bit confused, but I let go.

I kind of liked it.

I was used to Minji being so close to me at this point.

"Don't you have tutoring and practices today?" I asked.

"Yeah, but I was thinking of blowing it off," she rested her head on my shoulder as we walked home.

I stopped in my tracks.

"You've worked too hard to slack off now," I sighed out.

I always admired Minji's work ethic. It was a lonely and slightly miserable life, but the reward was so much more than anyone could ever afford.

"It's just one day. I wanna take a break," Minji's tone suddenly got really low and a bit shy.

I exhaled deeply and noticed the crosswalk sign turn on. I abruptly turned and walked Minji across the street to the bus stop.

"Oh, look. Just in time!" I exclaimed when I saw the bus coming.

I gently took Minji's arm off me and took a deep breath. "You're not getting off so easy. You've worked too hard. This will only build endurance," I began to walk away before Minji could make another excuse.

I rolled my eyes when Y/n just left.

"Jerk!" I mumbled under my breath before getting on the bus.

As the day went by, I realized that it was kind of odd that Y/n and I didn't interact at school. I realized it was even rude that I didn't acknowledge them at times. Considering everything Y/n has done for me, I really should've been nicer.

My day went on... longer than usual... but I endured it.

My youth relied on my future more than I wanted to acknowledge at times.

It was hard to endure so much, but I had good people around me. Whenever things didn't go my way I knew it was because it wasn't my place.

The things I needed always found their way to me.

"See you Monday!" Hanni and Danielle yelled as I ran out of the dance studio.

I didn't want to take the later bus so I took my chance running to the bus stop... in hopes of catching the bus...

"Oh, thank god!" I mumbled out of breath when I managed to catch the bus.

The bus ride didn't feel as long as usual.

The dance studio and my vocal coach were closer to my old dorm than Y/n's place. It always felt like it took forever to get to the dorm. But Y/n's place was closer to school, so I was okay.

"Hey, Kid!" Someone suddenly shook me awake.

I had fallen asleep during the bus ride, but luckily the bus driver was kind enough to wake me up when we arrived at my stop.

"Sorry," I wiped a bit of drool off my face and grabbed my bag.

"Have a good night," I bowed to the driver and got off the bus.

I sleepily made it up to the dorm and noticed Y/n cuddling with my teddy. I took off my shoes and yawned as I hung up my backpack.

I then sleepily brushed my teeth and just dragged myself to Y/n's bed. I didn't bother taking a shower or changing my clothes. I was too fucking tired.

I gently snatched my teddy out of Y/n's arms and turned to fall asleep.

Suddenly, I felt Y/n's arms wrap around me.

"I'm glad you're home," Y/n's voice was very groggy.

"I'm proud of you," Y/n suddenly kissed my cheek and scooted closer to spoon me.

I sleepily turned around and snuggled into Y/n's chest. "We should be more than friends," I mumbled.

"Mhm, we are more than friends," Y/n softly kissed my forehead before I passed out in their arms.
