Narrator

"I came to you with an opportunity," Investor Kim said.

Y/n and Hanni looked at each other a bit skeptical. Trusting Minji was still a bit of a foreign concept to them. Even after Minji-ssi decided to be part of their advisors.

"What is it?" Hanni anxiously looked on.

"Well," Minji looked at her sister and exhaled deeply.

Minji didn't actually come to talk about this particular subject, but when she saw Haerin... she figured that it wouldn't hurt if Y/n's team tried...

"There's a hackathon next week. Applications have been closed for a while but I have a lot of influence in that regard. The hosting company is looking for a company in the medical field or commercial aid products," Minji explained.

"Woah, can you get us in-"

"Absolutely not!" Y/n quickly rejected the offer.

- Y/N POV -

I almost felt offended.

"What?" Hanni looked at me like I was stupid.

I didn't mind it though. I knew my decisions never made any sense. It's what caused us developers. It's what caused us investors. It's what made us weak.

"Hackathons and events like that are just looking for a profit. They recruit and farm ideas that will get them the biggest return rate on their investments. Great ideas like ours take too much time to farm and profit from. We don't stand a chance," I felt ashamed as I realized the words I was saying.

"That right!" Kang Haerin-ssi suddenly exclaimed.

Minji stumbled back a bit surprised.

"Great ideas don't always turn into money. Sometimes a thank you or the simple thought that you made someone's life easier is all it takes to make it feel worth it!" Haerin was speaking fast and irregularly. You could tell speaking wasn't her strong suit.

"That's why...," She paused.

"I'm joining Y/n-ssi's company as a developer!" Haerin-ie sternly stated.

I took a low breath... trying to keep my emotions from showing...

"Kang Haerin-ssi has the right idea. She understands the value of things. I do too, but sometimes I cannot gauge the value of our company. That is why...," I took the deepest breath I had ever taken in my life.

"I am stepping down as the CEO and appointing Hanni to the position," I exhaled.

- Hanni POV -

My eyes went wide.

"What?" I looked at Y/n like they were crazy.

"Board adviser, Kim Minji, I know I cannot just appoint someone to be the CEO. I know things don't work that way. But, I also know that Ha-... Miss Pham Hanni has the company's best interest in mind," Y/n's business mode had turned on.

Most times, I found it difficult to adjust to such a shift in personality. Y/n was usually emotional and a bit, umm, eccentric.., if you will... but they got the job done in the end.

"Pham Hanni has looked out for this company regardless of its many downfalls and trials. She even questioned why I did not come to you for investments first, given our personal history...," My jaw wanted to drop.

"Did she?" Minji-ssi asked.

"I wondered the same too," Miss Kim smiled at me for the first time... without bitter feelings...

"Yes," Y/n sternly responded.

"I hope that you can see what's good for the company at the next advised meeting!" Y/n bowed at her.

- Minji POV -

I was stunned.

It almost felt like I had misjudged everyone in the room.

"Very well," I cleared my throat.

"If that is your wish. Then I support it," I looked at Y/n fondly.

"Of course, cus it doesn't cost her any money," I hear Hanni mumble under her breath.

"Excuse me?!" I did not like her judgment.

"Mmm," Haerinie suddenly wrapped her arm around me and began to whine.

She stomped her feet a bit and jumped like an impatient child.

"I'm hungry. Take me somewhere nice to celebrate my first real job!" She nagged.

I took a deep breath and nodded.

Y/n's company was always a mess. So, I shouldn't have been surprised. Changing the CEO was no problem, but I found it a bit reckless. Miss Pham didn't seem CEO material. She certainly didn't sound like one.

"Right. Let's get you some food," I tried to remove myself from the situation as awkwardless as I could.

"Kim Minji-ssi," Y/n suddenly said.

"Yes?" I answered.

"I think you and I both know that this will pay off in the end. Both professional and personably. I would appreciate it if you stuck by my side and trusted me for once," Y/n's words were cold but their eyes looked desperate.

I took a deep breath and looked over at Haerin.

Haerin wasn't too bad, but she did struggle. She made it all feel worth it... but unfortunately... that's not how things worked. It wasn't enough for me to risk millions and possibly lose the respect of my family.

I needed to put food on the table and make a comfortable life for my sister.

Putting my faith in someone just wasn't enough.

"Y/n-ssi," I looked back at Y/n.

"You know better than to ask a favor from someone you already owe," I took a deep breath.

"What?!" Miss Pham suddenly yelled.

"If money is that important to you then maybe we shouldn't have you as an adviser!" She stepped up to face me

"I might not be the CEO yet but I know our company's values and we stick by them. Profits come with a satisfied customer. If you feel the need to bring up old debts then perhaps you made a mistake and that mistake should not be repeated. I will not allow you to feel dissatisfied and I will not allow Y/n to feel in debt," Hanni was a little more strong-minded than I thought.

"Hanni, it's not like that," Y/n stepped out to stand next to her.

"I don't care. Anyone who brings up a debt did not do something from the goodness of their heart. We are a company that stands on morals and I think we can both agree that having individuals in our company who regret their help is something that shouldn't be allowed," Pham Hanni stepped closer to my face.

I wanted to gulp.

"I- I think- They're right," Haerin suddenly pulled her arm away from me and walked to stand behind the company founders.

"As much as I don't agree with the way this information came out. I will stand by Hanni's side. No matter what," Y/n stepped up and looked at Hanni with a sparkle in their eyes.

I looked down at my feet to think.

I didn't usually feel ashamed, but this felt like the right moment to feel so.

"You should be with us if profits are what you're after," Y/n coldly stated...
