We split up (bad idea alert)

Percy POV:

I honestly didn't think things could get worse after Kiwi, Melon, and Piper had switched sides once already. But apparently, I was wrong. Really wrong. Because now, not only were they betraying us again, but Frank and Hazel had been forced to join them. Just my luck.

We were still standing in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by mosquitoes and bad decisions, when Kiwi flashed her trademark smirk, the one that usually spelled disaster. "So, we've thought it through," she said, shrugging casually. "And being villains was way more fun the first time around."

Piper, looking tense and more conflicted than before, added quietly, "We didn't have a choice." She shot an apologetic glance at Annabeth, who just stared back in shock.

Frank and Hazel looked... devastated. Frank shifted uncomfortably, and Hazel's eyes were glued to the ground, clearly unable to meet our gaze.

"Frank? Hazel? What's going on?" Reyna asked, her voice sharp. She was gripping her sword tightly, like she was ready to march over and slap some sense into them.

Kiwi laughed. "Oh, they're just following orders. You know how it is when you've got to play along."

"Let them go," Annabeth said, stepping forward. "They don't want this."

Piper's shoulders slumped a little, but she stayed silent.

Sun POV:

I couldn't believe it. Just when we were starting to make progress, Kiwi and Melon pulled this stunt. And to make matters worse, Frank and Hazel had been dragged into it. But then... there was Strawberry. She was standing with the group of traitors, but I knew better. She wasn't on their side.

She caught my eye for a split second and winked. A wink. Suddenly, it all clicked—Strawberry was playing double agent. She was spying on them for us. Clever.

I leaned over to Grover and whispered, "Strawberry's on our side. She's working undercover."

Grover blinked at me, wide-eyed. "Undercover as a traitor? Who does that?"

"Apparently, Strawberry does."

Reyna POV:

My heart sank seeing Frank and Hazel over there, looking like prisoners in their own skin. Whatever was going on with them wasn't voluntary, but that didn't change the fact that Kiwi, Melon, and Piper were leading them straight into villainy.

I crossed my arms, trying to stay calm. "Kiwi, if you think you're walking out of here with Frank and Hazel, you're sorely mistaken."

Kiwi just laughed. "You've got no choice, praetor. They're with us now. Besides, why would we stay with the losing team?"

"I wouldn't call us losers just yet," Annabeth chimed in, her eyes cold. "We've still got plenty of fight left."

"Well, let's hope that fight's good enough to survive," Melon added, her voice sugary sweet. "Because we're going to need it soon."

Leo POV:

I felt Jason's arm brush against mine, the tension buzzing between us as Kiwi and Melon prepared to make their grand villain exit. "Not again," I muttered, half to Jason, half to myself. "Why does this keep happening? It's like we're in some kind of twisted game show where betrayal is the only prize."

Jason shot me a sympathetic look. "It's okay, Leo. We'll figure this out."

"Yeah, but now they've got Frank and Hazel. And Strawberry... I think she's up to something."

Jason frowned. "You sure?"

"Positive. She winked at Sun, and trust me, no villain ever winks at the enemy unless they're planning something. It's, like, Villainy 101."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "I didn't realize you were such an expert."

I grinned. "What can I say? Hanging out with ex-villains gives you a certain... insight."

Grover POV:

This was way above my pay grade. I mean, demigods betraying each other every other quest? Monsters I could deal with, but this whole soap opera of switching sides was making my hooves hurt. And now Strawberry was a spy?

"I thought she was on their side," I whispered to Chai, who was standing next to me, looking equally confused.

"She is... but she's not. It's complicated."

"Well, that clears things up," I muttered, feeling more stressed by the second. "I just hope she doesn't get stuck in that role."

"Same," Chai replied. "But we've got bigger problems right now."

Piper POV:

I hated this. I hated standing here, with Kiwi and Melon, pretending I was okay with any of it. I wasn't. Not even close. But there was no way out. They had something over me, something I couldn't escape.

I looked over at Percy, Annabeth, Reyna, and the others—my friends—and my heart twisted painfully. "I'm sorry," I whispered, so quiet I wasn't even sure anyone heard it.

Kiwi threw one last smirk over her shoulder as she started to lead us away. "Good luck, demigods. You're going to need it."

Annabeth POV:

As they disappeared into the jungle, I was left with a mix of anger and frustration boiling in my chest. I turned to Reyna and Percy. "We can't let them get away with this. We need a plan."

Before any of us could respond, the air shimmered again, and a scroll—very much like the one we'd gotten before—appeared out of thin air, floating down into my hands.

"Oh great," Grover said, throwing his hands up. "Another magical prophecy. Just what we needed."

Percy POV:

Annabeth unrolled the scroll and read aloud:

"When darkness and light clash in the sky,
Three paths shall open, and heroes must try.
The disc of time, once lost in flame,
Shall return to bring balance to its name.

Divide, you must, with trust in your heart,
For the key to victory lies not in the start.

Follow the whispers, the ancient winds speak,
Or fall to the demon, powerful and sleek.
"

There was a long pause as we all processed the words.

"Okay, so that's... vague," Reyna said, crossing her arms. "But I'm guessing 'three paths' means we're splitting up."

"Typical," Thalia muttered, rubbing her temples. "I hate prophecies."

I couldn't help but agree with her. Prophecies were always cryptic, and they never ended well.

"Still, it's a clue," Annabeth said. "The disc of time has to be the Sudarshana Chakra, and we need to split into three groups to find it."

Reyna POV:

I was already mentally dividing the group. "Alright, Annabeth, Thalia, Percy, and I will take one path."

Leo grinned, already throwing an arm around Jason. "Team Valgrace and Chai, you're with me. We're the dream team."

"Don't forget me," Grover muttered, looking slightly nervous. "I'll keep you guys grounded."

Sun stepped forward, pulling Sparkle and Moon with her. "Looks like we're the last group."

Annabeth nodded. "We'll all follow our own paths, but we've got to stay focused. The Sudarshana Chakra is the key, and we can't let Kiwi, Melon, or Piper get it first."

Leo POV:

Jason squeezed my shoulder as we started down the jungle path, Chai and Grover close behind us. "You ready for this, Valdez?"

"Always," I said, giving him a crooked grin. "I mean, it's just another day of betrayal, prophecies, and saving the world. What else is new?"

Jason chuckled. "Just remember, Valgrace always wins."

I smirked back. "Valgrace always wins."
