Kiwi POV:

Being a villain wasn't exactly new to me, but working alongside an ancient demon king was definitely a first. I mean, who wakes up and thinks, Yeah, I'm going to join forces with Hiranyakashipu today? But here we were—me, Melon, Piper, Frank, and Hazel—deep inside the villain's lair. And this wasn't just any lair. Oh no, this place looked like it was plucked straight out of an ancient nightmare.

We stood in a massive underground chamber, the walls lined with jagged black rocks that seemed to hum with dark energy. The air was thick with the smell of sulfur, and torches lined the walls, casting flickering shadows that made the entire place feel like it was alive. You could practically feel the evil seeping through the cracks.

Melon was at my side, looking eerily calm as always. "So, this is home now, huh?" she said, her tone light despite the situation.

"Feels cozy," I muttered sarcastically, eyeing the giant throne at the far end of the chamber. "If you like sulfur and impending doom."

Piper stood next to Frank and Hazel, her face drawn and tense. She still wasn't completely on board with this whole villain thing. Not that I could blame her—there's a big difference between being manipulated into joining a villain team and actually wanting to destroy the world.

And then there was Hiranyakashipu himself. The demon king was seated on his massive, jagged throne, his dark eyes gleaming with malevolent glee. He was an imposing figure, to say the least—towering, muscular, with skin like blackened stone and eyes that burned like molten lava. If evil had a physical form, it was him.

"So," Hiranyakashipu's voice rumbled through the chamber like thunder, "you've aligned yourselves with me. And yet, you haven't delivered what I need."

Melon POV:

I shrugged, completely unfazed by the demon king's burning glare. "We're working on it. You know, these things take time."

Hiranyakashipu leaned forward on his throne, his massive hands gripping the armrests like he was deciding whether to crush us or wait it out. "Time is not on your side. The trial of fire will soon begin, and if you fail to retrieve the Sudarshana Chakra before those demigods, I will personally ensure you experience a slow and painful end."

"Cool, cool," I said, offering a lazy salute. "No pressure then."

Kiwi shot me a look that said, Stop antagonizing the demon king. But hey, that's just how I roll.

Piper POV:

I still couldn't believe we were standing here, listening to this demon king talk about mass destruction like it was some sort of fun weekend project. I glanced over at Hazel and Frank—they looked just as miserable as I felt. This wasn't what any of us wanted. We were stuck. And it was all because of Kiwi and Melon.

"We're close to the trial," Kiwi assured Hiranyakashipu, her voice smooth as ever. "We know the location, and we'll get there before they do. The Sudarshana Chakra will be yours."

Hiranyakashipu's lip curled into a cruel smile. "See that you do. I would hate for my army to have to intervene... prematurely."

As if on cue, the ground trembled beneath us, and from the shadows at the edge of the chamber, Hiranyakashipu's army emerged. It was a sight straight out of a horror movie—demons of all shapes and sizes, their skin as dark as night, their eyes glowing like embers. They were armed with jagged weapons, claws, and fangs, and the very sight of them made my stomach churn.

"Impressive," Melon said, examining the demon horde with a critical eye. "But we'll handle the demigods before you have to unleash these guys."

"See that you do," Hiranyakashipu said, his tone final.

Strawberry POV:

Being in enemy territory was nerve-wracking, to say the least. Acting as a double agent had been risky from the start, but this? This was way beyond what I'd expected. I had managed to keep my cover intact so far, blending in with the villains while secretly feeding Sun information. But I was running out of time.

I'd already sent a message to Sun earlier—trying to warn her about Kiwi and Melon's plan to go for the trial of fire first. The connection had been terrible, but I'd hoped she got enough of the message to act. Now, I needed to send a follow-up, something more concrete.

I slipped away from the main chamber while Kiwi and Melon were busy playing diplomat with Hiranyakashipu. The demon king's army was terrifying, but what scared me more was the thought of Kiwi and Melon actually getting the Sudarshana Chakra. If they did, it was all over. And Hiranyakashipu? He'd turn the world to ash.

I found a secluded corner of the lair, somewhere out of sight. My makeshift communication device—a hodgepodge of parts I'd scavenged from different places—wasn't exactly state-of-the-art, but it worked. Kind of.

I activated it, praying the signal would hold this time. "Sun... it's Strawberry. I've got more info on—"

A shadow fell across me, and my heart nearly stopped. I looked up, and there was Kiwi, her arms crossed and an amused smirk on her face.

"Well, well," she said, her voice dangerously calm. "What do we have here?"

Kiwi POV:

Busted.

Strawberry froze, her hand still on that janky little communication device of hers. "Kiwi," she said, her voice steady but her eyes betraying her fear.

I chuckled, leaning against the wall. "You know, I had a feeling something was off about you. You're a little too... not villain-y. And now I find you sneaking off to send a message to Sun. Care to explain?"

Strawberry swallowed hard but didn't say anything. Probably because she knew she was caught.

"You really thought you could get away with this?" I asked, stepping closer. "You're a terrible spy, you know that?"

Strawberry's eyes darted to the side, probably looking for an escape route. Too bad for her, there wasn't one.

"Let me guess," I said, crouching down to her level. "You were warning Sun about the trial of fire? Trying to be the hero?"

Strawberry set her jaw, refusing to answer. Bold move.

"Doesn't matter," I said, standing up. "Hiranyakashipu will be thrilled to hear that you're not as loyal as you pretended to be. Maybe he'll let you join the army of the dead. You'd fit right in."

I grabbed her by the arm and dragged her back toward the chamber, where Hiranyakashipu and the others were waiting.

Melon POV:

Kiwi returned with Strawberry in tow, a triumphant grin on her face. "Look what I found," she said, shoving Strawberry forward. "Our little friend here has been spying for Sun."

Hiranyakashipu's eyes glowed with fury, and a low growl rumbled from his chest. "A spy?"

Strawberry, to her credit, didn't flinch. "I didn't have a choice," she said. "You're going to destroy the world. Someone had to stop you."

Kiwi smirked. "Too bad you're not the one who's going to stop us."

Hiranyakashipu stood from his throne, towering over Strawberry. "Take her away," he commanded. "She will pay for her betrayal."

As the demons dragged Strawberry away, Kiwi gave a mock salute. "Good luck, traitor. You're going to need it."

I turned to Kiwi, arching an eyebrow. "So what now? Trial of fire?"

Kiwi nodded, the smirk never leaving her face. "Trial of fire."
