The portal closes behind me as I step onto warm sands, my mind recognising where Fu took me. I turned to thank him, but he's already gone. As I see the door opening with this new vision, I look to it, seeing two people I recognise. Master Roshi, and Krillin.
"Who are you, young one? To have such immense power for your age, you must have a lot of potential!" Roshi questioned, shocked and amazed at my power. I can be entirely honest here, so I am.
"William John Harold Carter-Tindale, Master Roshi. Since you already saw how I got here most likely, I can be truthful. I am not of this reality. I haven't been the best in my life, but I want to change my life for the better. J would like to train under you, if you'll allow me." My words came out on their own, a mix of solemness, hope, and worry.
Roshi takes a moment to think, seeing not only my intentions are true, but my heart carries weight of some sins. One's I know I can't hide, or fix, but I hope to be free of the guilt of them by helping people.
Roshi glances to krillin, then to me. "If you can beat Krillin in a spar, I'll train you. How does that sound?" Roshi asked, knowing my answer. Almost instantly, I nodded. "Good, then you may behind when ready." Minutes later, I was standing opposite Krillin. I adopt a cat-like stance, as if ready to hunt, while Krillin takes the stance of the turtle school style. There's silence. Upon the crashing of a wave against the sand, the battle begins.
