I wait in the wasteland with Piccolo and Gohan, calm and focused. This is it. They're coming. Their ki...it seems to small. Why? Did I overtrain? I knew I was going pretty hard, but this seems like something I can handle. Nappa isn't suppressing his ki, so I know I'm above him. 4,000 and 18,000. That's their base power levels. I then feel Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Tien arrive. Everyone is here. Remaining calm and collected, I don't really talk. I have a family to protect. As I wait for the Saiyans to arrive, I don't join the ensuing conversations about their power, simply staying silent and patient. I think about my wife and child, how they'll be in danger if I don't win here. My line of thought is cut off as Nappa and Vegeta land in front of us, my expression turning from being concerned to stern.
"Alright, Vegeta. You're going to get one chance to leave with your lackey before I wipe the floor with you." I warn, willing to kill Vegeta. I'm not as merciful as Goku. Going right for the kill is the best call with Nappa. Vegeta needs to be kept alive for later, since I know how he'll influence events down the line. Vegeta wonders how I know his name, but brushes it off. He looks at my power on his Scouter, reading it out.
"...3,000. Hah! Did you not grow at all during the year it took for us to get here?!" Vegeta mocks, laughing off my power. "Nappa, let's give them a warm-up. Deploy some Saibamen. They have the same power level as Raditz, so if these fools have grown in any way, we'll see it." Nappa lets off a devious grin, wondering who's going to die first. I become slightly agitated. I know Yamcha will be overconfident, but I do want to see if he's stronger than normal here because of my presence. If he dies, then I know I'm going to lose control. I keep my emotions under control as much as possible as I watch the Saibamen get planted by Nappa. As the Saibamen rise from the ground, I don't react as the others stare in shock at the Saibamen as they rush forward. Yamcha steps up, taking on 2 of them himself as I rush forward to handle the others to prevent more death. Taking the other 3, I blast away 2 with a split finger shot. Something feels off though. Where's the third one? As I look around, I see it too late. The explosion. Yamcha is dead.
