"Mortals are unnecessary for the universe." Zamasu responds, starting off as we walk. "The gods can run the universe just fine without them, so I believe they should all be purged. All they do is destroy and ruin lives." I take a moment, nodding.
"That's about what I expected. Though I have a counter." I respond, starting off a counter response. "If Mortals are lower, then why do you give the God of Destruction respect?" I let Zamasu process the question, letting him respond.
"The question is flawed. The Gods of Destruction are gods, thus worthy of respect." Zamasu responds, allowing me to counter with my own knowledge.
"Yet you forget that the Gods of Destruction are not born gods like the Core People, otherwise known as kais. They are mortals chosen for the role by the gods." I counter the argument of Zamasu, calm. "Which leads into my next questions. One. Do you see yourself above Zeno?" Zamasu slightly scowls, but it isn't as bad.
"No, of course not." Zamasu responds.
"Do you see yourself above mortals?" I ask next.
"Yes, I do. They should be praising the gods." Zamasu responds, leading me naturally into another question.
"If that's the case, then what gives you the authority to speak out against how Zeno and the Grand Priest operate things?" I ask Zamasu, still calm, but not as serious.
"I can express my opinion." Zamasu retorts, not grimacing now, but still irritated. He does look to be learning, though.
"That's true. You can speak out and express your opinion. But remember what I said about how the Gods of Destruction are chosen. Mortals chosen for divinity." I start off my counter, passing by the tree Gowasu sits under on normal days as Zamasu walks with me. "Does that not prove that in the eyes of the Gods, in the eyes of Zeno, that mortals and gods are equal, or perhaps similar? Take me for an example. An anomaly that's allowed to exist because Zeno allows it." Zamasu stops, so I do. I let him process everything in silence. Zamasu then speaks up, looking at me with curiosity now instead of malice, actually listening, which surprises me.
"I'd like to know something. I want to know if these thoughts are acted on without your intervention." Zamasu tells me, calm but concerned. I smile at him.
"Why don't I show you? Zamasu, do you know what the time rings are?" I ask Zamasu in response, wondering if Gowasu will allow me to do what I'm about to do.
